I asked for more money for a senior accountant role and have received a lot of push back. I have been firm with my decision and the recruiter called me today to set up an interview with the CFO. And then threw in the fun fact that there are two other applicants that are willing to take the money offered. Are recruiters always this annoying?
A2 with 10 months of experience about to interview for a senior accountant role, wish me luck!
I'm having an interview this week. I haven't interviewed for the past 5 years. With the exception of practicing general questions, background research of company, what other advice can y'all give me? Interviewing for a industry senior accountant role. Wish me luck :D

Guys I have a second round interview with an accounting manager at my dream job. Senior Accountant role at a Tech company. I have all weekend to prep. How should I approach this prep? Please help! It’s a pre-IPO company and so there are no public 10-K I can review. Should I review the STAR method? Any advice is welcome. I will do everything in my power to be prepared. Please advise. 🖤
I want to leave public as a senior, but can’t find anything I’m interested in. I’ve been applying;g for manager and assistant controller roles, which has been really difficult. But I don’t really want a senior accountant role. I was thinking FP and A is a good choice. I’m looking for something that has good career progression and a better WLB balance, pay isn’t so important to me. Has anyone else dealt with this? Advice would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a salary difference between a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A and a Senior Accountant? Assuming you have the same amount of accounting experience when applying for each position.
Anyone familiar with salary in orange county (SoCal) and LA/El Segundo area? Interviewed for a senior accountant role in a public health care industry in Irvine, but their maximum pay is 85K. I thought Irvine should have pretty good pay too but this surprises me. Even a private Healthcare company in El Segundo pays more than that for the same role but with even lesser experience and easier job duties...
Is this salary too low? I'm @ final interview for senior accountant and job posting said $60-65k. Before you say it's too low right away, my experience is on a low end of this of this role. Just 1 year auditer @ national top 10, 6 months intern at same firm, 1 year accounting intern at local private firm, and 2 years doing AP clerk. I'm a licensed CPA and in MCOL. I really want this title for growth but don't want to get stiffed. It's a large corp w/ great benefits.
Currently making $57.5 as a Tax Associate. (No raises this year). Had a job interview for a Senior Accountant role at a PE firm and they asked for salary expectations... I said $65-$80. Did I set the bar too low?
In a process of interviewing for a technical accounting manager job. Hiring manager told me that the position won’t have staff oversight responsibilities. So I feel this is a glorified senior accountant job under a manager title. The raise is decent 20%. Growth opportunity seems to be ok, 2 SM above me, one manager who has more experience, and 2 accountants that the SM oversees. It is technical accounting, so probably doing special projects etc. Should I take the offer?
Have a third and final interview for a senior accountant position tomorrow with the director of tax in industry. I previously spoke to the director and CFO. Is this is a formality? What should I expect? Any thoughts are appreciated.
Hello all! I’ve got a question. So I interviewed with a company that I absolutely love. I interviewed with a senior accountant (over the phone), Senior director (video), and (continues below)
A client I worked on earlier this year has an opening for a senior accountant position and I want to apply. How do I go about applying for the position without engagement partner/managers knowing? Will the client let anyone know if they see my app?

Have an interview for a senior accountant position at an engineering asset protection firm. Will be speaking to the head of tax. Any tips or suggestions? What kind of questions will she ask? Thank you!
Applied to Senior Accountant role at a small company. Had a video interview with the CFO who ended by saying they’d send me a “case study” and I’d get 24 hours to complete it. Anyone have to do one of these before? Is there anything I can do to prep? Thanks
What do you say when asked about compensation range during the phone screen / 1st interview? If it's an online app I leave it blank but when a person asks I just tell them a range because I don't know what else to say. I'm worried that I might miss out on a higher salary by telling them my range (85-90k for senior accountant in HCOL city).
Can anyone give examples of technical questions asked in industry interviews for staff and senior accountant roles? Did anyone luck out and get no technical questions asked?
Have interviews next week for senior accountant positions and getting the weird feeling I could be leaving PA too early. Anyone second guess them self before making the switch out of PA?

Currently interviewing with Deloitte S&O, what are the salary bands like for a consultant? They are saying they can't bring me in as a senior consultant because I don't meet the 5 yr work experience
Applied for a role at Strategy& US. Know how long they’ll take to get back to me? Would love to know if I’ve been granted an interview or rejected out right.
So the recruiter where I was interviewing called last Friday and said everyone really liked me; we talked salary and start dates. I was told an official offer would be over by EOD or early this week.
Currently working as SM2 at PwC and interviewing with KPMG for a D position. Is is a good comparison in terms of designation? How’s the comp for D in KPMG? T2 city here. I have been with EY in the past and can vouch PwC offered a better WLB and culture. Always heard KPMG has better WLB and culture. Is it just a speculation or have some truth in it? Strategic Advisory FSS role, 8.5 YOE, masters.
A few years ago I landed an interview at W+K to for their lead social role. I didn’t get it. The guy who did was just promoted to…ECD of W+K in Portland. I work at a third-rate digital agency reporting to our head of strategy in a big network making boring decks for boring clients.
Can someone tell me about the “Business Analyst” role at EY? Where I come from analysts and consultants are different animals. I’m a consultant now, but was actively recruited for a “position” at EY. After the initial convo I received an invitation for a formal interview for a business analyst position… Which in my mind is a step down from consultant. Any insight? Also, what’s the culture over there? Weekly hours? Management? It’s flattering that one of the Big4 is after me but is it worth it..
Just got dinged from McK & BCG US, but received offers to interview with their offices in my home country. (EU) Is it worth doing this and try to transfer to the states at some point or should I reject outright? (Have a T2 return offer and a Bain interview for the US)
Is the interview process to get into IBD harder or easier than top consulting firms like BCG/McKinsey/Bain? Where do the truly smart people work nowadays?
I need to schedule two 2.5 hour interviews this week. Should I schedule them on the same day or take 2 mornings off? What’s the least obvious?
Does anybody have a view on the growth path / trajectory for a Strategy and Ops Lead at Google? I didn't get a very clear sense in my interviews, esp. because it feels like there is 1 manager for the team and so there is not a lot of scope for organic upward movement. Is it only through lateral moves within the org? You get enough tenure for the next role then find an opp to switch?
Has anyone butchered a case interview, recovered from it, and have gotten the job? If so, how did you recover from it? Any advice for those who are scared shitless of case interviews?
Have my first phone interview with a really small boutique firm. Hope it goes well. Any last minute advice?

Interviewing with BCG in a role that does strategy work similar to what I am doing now ... what is a good response to ' why do you want to move ? '. Dont want to talk about $$.
Started out my time here really energized and now I’ve been on the bench almost 2 months and wondering what I’m still doing here. How long before I should start applying to other jobs?
What does an interview for a senior manager switching firms look like (Deloitte to PwC)? Mostly experience and behavioural? Would they contact people at your old firm for references?
So I interviewed with an agency pre pandemic but of course rona put everything on hold. They really liked me according to an inside source. I want to keep top of mind for them and keep checking in but don’t want to seem desperate or annoying. Should I message them once a month or is that even too often? Halp.

Best consulting firms in Houston for Healthcare?
Do folks in business/strategy consulting at large firms use firm-approved project management systems, like asana or monday? When I worked at a small boutique firm, folks were obsessed with pristine project management systems and plans and charts and matrices. Now that I'm at a very large firm, it seems like teams maybe have some ad hoc spreadsheets, but everything moves so fast and client requests are constantly changing, it's mostly fly by the seat of your pants.
Anybody work at Amazon? Are their offers negotiable? My husband got an offer for a senior position in the VA office paying $120k plus $20k bonus plus 13 shares of stock that vest over 4 years. My husband has ~6 years of experience (2 yrs midsize PA plus various industry roles) so the senior title is low but have heard you have to take a step down in title to work at Fortune 25 companies. He likes the offer but not sure if he should negotiate for more because it’s expected?
I’m still fuzzy on this whole innovation thing. People are still getting hired to the role. What do they do? They seem to be nothing more than pundits. Someone else could be hired for that salary.
Not that I or someone I know is in a situation, but I was just thinking if you guys have a contingency plan in case things go south at work. Mainly with respect to sustaining immigration nightmares. Specially at experienced M/ SM level people get canned without prior notice. And now that Deloitte has asked staff to find work for 45 hours every week it's going to get more and more challenging on mid senior level as well. How are you guys preparing for the rainy day?

Boss: “you have to take the next level’s responsibility for 6 months first, before getting a title raise (without $$$)” Is this common in our industry? How would you handle it?
If you filed I-485 are you in status if you quit or are laid off and have enough time to basically find a new job until you get your interview? Im trying to understand what happened in the days when eb based gc didn’t require an interview and someone was laid off
Should I bother waiting for promo to start applying if I’m looking to stay in consulting short term or would I come in at ~entry level regardless? 2 YOE at ACN Strat, expecting promo to C in Nov. Generally like the work, but feel I could make more while working same or similar hours. Current base 100k, ~6% bonus, expecting that to go to ~130k (?) with ~6% bonus after promo.
