I live in PA. I went to Case Western Reserve for undergrad and Pitt for Grad School. If you believe the US News rankings, Pitt is number 58 in national universities and generally considered a higher end public school (one level below Michigan & Texas).

So we are very proud.

It makes us happy. He applied to nine colleges. To have one solid choice (top public university) in the bag makes us feel good about his chances. Even if he receives all “no’s”, he is going to a good school. And as PA residents, a fairly inexpensive school. :)

Newish to data analytics. Have some experience in power BI, sql, and R. I wanted to get some exposure to aws and saw the AWS cloud practitioner as an available course at my job. Is this cert worth it? Or should I try one of the more advanced ones ? The data analytics one for example but wasn’t sure if it would be difficult to get through as a beginner. Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Best way to deal with a doorman you don’t like? There is one (among other doormen who are nicer) in my building that is always condescending towards me as if he’s asserting dominance. Many times he would yell at me to pick up the packages when clearly I’m occupied/going outside. I’m the type that don’t interact with doormen unless necessary so wonder if it’s his way of getting attention. I always feel uneasy interacting with him but feel like I have no choice because I like staying where I am.
