We use Sirius Curriculum
I taught ELA for 27 years. My curriculum handles most of what was on the state tests. We did spend a week in the fall and a week before testing on the formula of responding to the writing prompts. Believe it or not, the English teachers had a very rigorous writing program in our district, so my job as a Literature teacher was to have the students read a selection, read the prompt, decide what was being asked, highlight points/quotes to use in their response, form a thesis statement, show how to punctuate all responses, use good word choice and connectors, write a rough draft, do revisions, and create a final copy. That took me about a week each time. I taught all the Literary elements and vocabulary (again rigorous) throughout the school year. I was always glad when testing was over!!

We do Wednesday RAP! We spend our Wednesday class with writing assignments to help the Students learn to Restate, Answer, and Prove (RAP). Our admin team even made a couple of music videos.
