I can't help but feel like this is an industry where people can only succeed and grow if you like to show off about the smallest things you've done and talk your mouth off at meetings. As a result, many incompetent / NOT knowledgeable people are getting all the credit over the really qualified people. Do you experience this at your company too? How does a silent worker, who is actually good at their job, get in the good books?

Did anyone here take the plunge from mechanical to mechatronic engineering? What did it take to prepare for the transition? Please help me with any advice you've got!

As a mech I find myself arguing more with software engineers than with electrical engineers. Recently, a software guy in my dept was arguing he could fix some code and implement AI to move precisely between 3 fixed positions - I got the welder and was done within 5 minutes. What is it like at your workplace?
