If your job is not hands on, maybe. But don’t spend time worrying about it. Get another skillset.
There's just so much hype about AI that the idea of it replacing all kinds of jobs has become popular mythology. I imagine there's some truth to some of it. But the likely scenario isn't so much replacing jobs as augmenting them. In other words, someone will have an AI assistant that can take on routine functions. I think that's how things will shake out with engineering, people will use AI to some extent, but it won't replace entire jobs.
Every time there's new technology everyone always says it's going to end up replacing their jobs. AI could definitely help make some people's jobs easier, but I have a hard time believing that they could fully replace a lot of jobs with AI.
It will replace few jobs but it can’t beat human thinking, reasoning, critical thinking, creativity. So pick a job where you can do such things, if the job you are in so manual and boring and not using your brain power then yes you’ll loose your job soon. At the end AI is just a mathematical tool. It can’t process information that is not defined mathematically.
AI can only replicate what has been done. If that's all you do, I'd be worried. If your jobs is creating new ideas, then you have no problems.
It’s all a bunch of fabricated FUD. Have you seen that AI called Devin that was supposed to take software engineering jobs? It was a huge flop and SWEs would be the first line of defense so you’ll be fine
