I have a Pure that I got from amazon. I’ve liked it so far, filters last for ~6 months and aren’t too expensive. It does fine in a living room that opens to multiple other rooms so I’m sure it would be fine for you.
Pure Enrichment PureZone Air Purifier 3-in-1 True HEPA Filter with UV-C Sanitizer - Helps Relieve Allergies, Eliminate Germs, Pet Dander, Smoke, Dust & More - Whisper Quiet Operation & Auto Off Timer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JKDAN2M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dL.bEb1Y58BX5
I have this purifier and an Alen FIT50.
The Pure sounds like a low drone. To get a room really clean, you need to turn the setting up higher, and the drone sound becomes more annoying.
The Alen is significantly more expensive, but I like that it auto-detects air quality and will increase/decrease speeds accordingly. The sound is like a soft whooshing, similar to white noise.
I have two Dyson purifiers that we really like. They can also double as space heaters.
I have the Dyson and night mode is really quiet. Programmable
