Applied for a consulting manager job and l lowballed myself (PANICKED) when they asked my salary expectation during the interview (I said 130+ but I should have said 160-180). How can I fix it once I receive the offer? Can I say “after researching the market and hearing more about the position I wouldn’t make a switch for less than 170”? Or how else would you frame it? I don’t feel pressured to switch jobs just exploring the market. Thanks!!
What are the kind of questions asked on a technical round interview for client consulting manager role at VCA ( Visa consulting and Analytics)
For context, I was told there are three interview rounds : case, technical and behavioral
Bain & Company Hi, I’m a Consulting Manager in the London office and have been approached by a recruiter to join Bain & Company as a Consultant into a generalist strategy consulting role. I have worked in FS for the past seven years at Deloitte, focusing on tech transformation. Has anyone made a similar move? If so how did you find moving from being a specialist to a generalist across multiple industries? What is it like working at Bain compared to Deloitte in terms of people, hours and enjoyment? Thanks!
Hi, any Accenture fish who can refer me to a finance transformation consulting manager position.

Is the PwC DDV practice actually as bad as it sounds here, or are people just venting? Have a Sr Associate offer in DDV ($120k base) v/s an Analytics consulting manager at a F100 product firm in credit risk ($175k base). From a pure career development and exit opps perspective, what’s the 🐠’s perspective on the better choice? Is the Big4 consulting tag + exit opps >>> $60-70k pay with bonuses? Also, is getting into MBB unrealistic from either/both (have a deferred admit at a T10 school)?
Hi 🐠 !! Looking for guidance. What level allows for better exit opportunities outside of consulting: manager or as an associate principal+? If the goal is to try and pivot to health tech !? Thank you
Is the Principal role in Infosys management consulting services group equivalent to a Consulting Manager role in Accenture or Deloitte? What are the exit opportunities for the Infosys role? There is a 35% hike being offered by Infosys. Is it worth the move?
Expecting an offer to leave for another B4 in upcoming days. Say my start date is mid January, should I not disclose to EY where I'm headed once I sign?
Nervous about getting let go immediately and not getting the 2 weeks notice/pay I would usually put in.
Am I obligated to disclose and be truthful?
Business consulting, Manager level
Please Help. Prepping up for my first ever case study interview this Friday at Deloitte UK for a Consulting Manager role. Where should I start? Websites, materials, Youtube channels?
Exit Big 4 Consulting (manager) to:
a) Industry, Corp Dev, manager level
b) MBB, associate
Offers in hand for both, about what you’d expect: less money & hours for industry, more money at MBB
New manager at a Big 4, but I’ve been a consulting manager for a while. An SC on the team said they “refuse” to report to me because I’m new. Our partner told me to get this SC in line and that I have his full support- but he apparently never told her I was coming to join the team to manage her😬. How do I set this SC straight without totally squashing her spirits? For context, she wants to take on more management role and be my “peer” but she’s a brand new SC...she’s not close to being ready.
Hey friends - im currently a consulting manager and I’m interested in transitioning to a similar advisory type consulting role in aws. Is the engagement manager role closely align to what a manager does in consulting? Or is there another role I should be looking at?
Question for all the 🐟 on here, just got a verbal offer from Amazon and wanted to get advice on comp - they’ve made an initial offer of 240K TC. This is for an L6 Senior Product Manager role in Seattle. Consulting manager with 8YOE.
How much of a pay cut should I expect moving from a consulting Manager level compensation (e.g. PL, EM, Manager) to a reasonable exit opportunity? I’ve heard that CPG pays much less, but wanted to know if that’s the case at all levels of exit, etc.
What are my exit options as a Consulting Manager working in Public sector?Worked in Health & human services-integrated eligibility,Health exchanges, Medicaid enterprise solutions.SM role in D is pain

Laid off. Wha wha. Anyone hiring out there?
Are normal (pre-covid) happy hours ever worth it? I’m older starting career after kids but in a junior role. At what level do people phase out of this? Or does it still have value for networking?
I’m watching the creativity awards on ad age. I decided to take a shot everytime I see a POC nominated. So its been 35 minutes and I have only seen one. But that wasn’t even the surprising part. When they went to the Inclusion award that’s when I just started laughing at the amount of Karen’s and Micheals in position. Not one person with a shade of color was in the category lol 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Just finished an interview for an AE role at a high-growth SaaS organization.
The interviewer told me that their quotas are very high - barely any of their sales reps hit quota YoY. They mentioned, “goals are high to push our reps. hence our YoY growth”
Is this a red flag?
Any PwC senior associates/managers with internal audit background keen to move to New Zealand? I can get you a referral
Got approached by another agency (media) regarding a Director role. Somewhat nice client and benefits +30%, but when the offer came, salary and responsibility were as discussed but title downgraded to Associate Director.
Hiring manager told me he got pushback against my years of experience, but they still went ahead with salary and task description of a director. Should I consider it?
Would you take high risk / high reward consulting gig at a small firm? Comp is hourly and project based. Firm has a good foothold in the niche market. Offers lots of flexibility. But no benefits and since it’s project and hourly based it’s feast or famine. If you have a partner (spouse, domestic partner, etc.) and they had a stable job, would it change your perspective of taking the high risk/high reward role?
Have you seen SAP project management role covered with an external freelancer or an external from other firm that is not the part of the general implementation partner or from customer organization?
Employee law question:
In the state of CA for a full time non-exempt role. If fired without warning (no previous warnings/feedback) ⚠️ for "performance" (although performance was arguably good) or actually "team fit" (politics), do you have any case or legal standing?
Any advice for approaching a maternity leave conversation when my company has no policy, no HR dept and I have no contract? I’m a partner shareholder in my company (we’re not in the US), 19 wks pregnant. I know the time off and pay I’d like to negotiate, but my partners are male and weird about money. I’m underpaid in a very senior 6 yr position, my job is stressful and around the clock, so I want proper leave. I can’t afford childcare and our govt stat leave is terrible, it won’t pay my bills.
McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.
I have a new manager working with me who is surprisingly not great at the role. We’re in industry and she’s worked at the company for a long time but in a different capacity. (Cont)
