In my early days, I have been guilty of leveraging my position because of this feminine energy you talk about. We were born with it, why not take advantage of it right?
I agree with this completely. It never hurts to get ahead of the competition by using what natural assets you have. Others are willing enough to fall for it so why not right?
I don't use my gender as a leverage to compete with men in afield that is clearly dominated by their kind. I always tell them that the only advantage they have from me is that they have higher testosterone level that makes them physically stronger than women. But they can't always be superior when it comes to mental and intellectual capacity.
I don't think I have. Atlesast if I did, I didn't do it intentionally or realize I was even doing it.
I think I do it without realizing. Definitely play into it a bit to calm people down and win them over, and if that means being a bit more charming than I'd normally be...sure! Or maybe I overestimate how charming I am haha
Sorry for the silly question: what do you mean by "feminine energy/charm"? Like "be beautiful and smile" etc. ? Please don't get me wrong, there is no judgement on my side! I'm just a bit confused - maybe because I have never sought to be the typically charming lady hehe
As a corollary to this topic - so apologies in advance if it is a bit OT : I have noticed that in my team, women coworkers - both engineers and non engineers- are all smiling, do not talk if not asked for, are very condescendant and are never critical. This hurts me AF, as it's exactly what I am not and I am a bit scared about that.
