I have a big concern at work. I work at a McDonald's and the spot where I am is way too hot for me to handle at the drive pay window. The temps have been up to 105. I have begged to move somewhere else but to no avail. I suffer from heat rage. There is no ac vent and car compressors blow hot air in my face. The heat affects my concentration and mood. I can't stay there anymore. I fear I will have a 3rd heatstroke and no one cares. Should I contact OSHA about this inhumane treatment?

Please document this in writing today. Tell your GM/franchise owner that the drive pay window is reaching 105, there’s no AC vent, hot car air is blowing directly on you, and you have a history of heatstroke. Ask for a safer station, rotation, cooling fan/portable AC, and water/rest breaks. If they ignore it, contact OSHA. If you feel confused, faint, dizzy, nauseous, or like you’re overheating, leave the station and get medical help immediately. Heatstroke is not something to tough out.

Sounds like a plan. GM doesn't care at all.

They don’t care sadly at all I work outside in construction so I get the heat issue but sadly they don’t care at all

You should look at the paperwork on the wall and find contacts and contact. Either the franchise owner or Corp.

This sounds like a terrible work environment. I would look into the local ordinances to understand if this is a workplace violation. What you can do in the meantime is get some personal cooling equipment. So things like ice pack headbands, liquid iv to stay hydrated, etc.

How do I go about doing that? Where can I go?

As a former OSHA Compliance Safety and Health Officer (inspector), I can tell you that OSHA does take heat-related hazards seriously. Document your concerns in writing to your manager or franchise owner, including the temperatures, lack of cooling, and your history of heatstroke. Ask for reasonable accommodations such as rotation, cooling measures, and additional water/rest breaks. If the hazard isn't addressed and you're being exposed to unsafe conditions, you should consider contacting OSHA. Your health comes first; if you start experiencing symptoms of heat illness, leave the area and seek medical attention immediately.

Fellow Big Law colleagues, need help on how to hansle a situation (that shouldn’t even be happening imo).
I used to work for Partner A in project financing and made the internal switch to work in Investment Funds team.
One case with Partner A remained, and though I stayed on, it was mostly to advise in Investment Funds, as he had been looping in another associate from his team.
This week I had to send an e-mail about InvF, and he complained to me that he hadn’t seen the draft…how do I respond?

I have joined a company on 4th Feb, through consultancy on contract to hire basis.
I only received the job offer letter from the consultancy, but no Appointment Letter is given yet.
So since it's 10-15 day, since I joined. Can I leave this company, since I've got a better offer, with my suitable location.
PS: I have also received the laptop, but didn't login or do anything yet.
Please help me, can I still leave the company? And return the laptop to them. Or I have to continue here itself?
