Austin, Chicago, Denver all are significantly cheaper than nyc and make great work.
I loved Denver. I don’t think I could do Chicago winters. Austin intrigued me.
I think my fear is moving out of NY and not being able to come back. I’ve heard it’s very hard to get back here. I’m also a total introvert and struggle with the idea of starting a new life, essentially.
Go to LA and you can have twice the space for the same price and tons of hiking to be an introvert. I live in LA as a freelancer and actually work more for NY agencies. Quality of work is pretty close it quality of life is way higher.
Portland is a lot cheaper than NYC. Plus there’s a little shop called W+K you could check out.
