I was let go from my position yesterday. The managing partner, who did the letting go, said it as because of poor development and bad work product. Yet, only in December, I got a solid raise and excellent bonus for my size firm. Between then, the partner had made unsupported claims of bad work (e.g., claimed I used the wrong code in a letter bc it wasn’t the one he told me to use but the one the documents supported). I was fired after I reported a partner for a serious (criminal) ethics violation. The firm covered it up. Are all companies like this in the end? I’ve lost my trust and don’t know how to start over.

I am recently received an invite for a meeting with a partner and a HR person which means I am either going to be laidoff or put on a reduced schedule (60% time for 60% pay). I would rather being laidoff since I don’t want to still work 100% with 60% pay. How would I frame it if they put me on the reduced schedule? I don’t want to say “you have to fire me” since it might be counted as resignation and I won’t receive the severance package.

Honestly being laid off sounds pretty good as a staff working 65 hours a week 🤷‍♂️ would be making more money doing nothing.

Given the 🔥 hiring market, did the layoffs 9-12 months ago cost firms more to just hire a bunch of people back? Firms paid severance back then to just now pay on boarding plus signing bonus plus training plus staffing.

I love my WFH in PwC India & base location of Kolkata. & the best thing is stability in PwC India, they never lay off!!

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Need some career advice. I’m currently a Salesforce consultant in healthcare, looking to pivot to work within the political sphere - specifically social impact/policy. I’m passionate about driving societal change, and have struggled to feel like I can do so in my current role. Healthcare is also not of particular interest to me.
