Has anyone seen someone in big4 M&A tax switch to a generalist consulting role at T2/MBB? Not expecting tenure to transfer. People at the ~consultant level have said it’s basically an impossible switch, so I’m looking to see if PPMDs share that sentiment.

Should I Let hiring manager know in 1st round that i have offer ?

Hey guys need help evaluating two offers: offer A: technical product manager, TC 110k. Offer B: product analyst, TC 140k. Offer A offers better work exp and I want to do PM work, offer B pays more and has the potential to internal transfer to a PM role within a year, but it’s obviously not guaranteed. Would love anyone’s insight on this. I am an AM and have been working in media for the past 5 years. I’m trying to transition internally from Sales to Marketing. I interviewed but didn’t get the role and the hiring manager suggested I take a course to fill in the gaps in my experience. I looked into the courses and they are about $5k. My question is - is it reasonable for a company to expect me to pay for this development or should the company cover those costs and invest in their employee?

Recently left my previous employer and am trying to decide what to do with my 401K. I am able to roll it to my new employer, but have been thinking about converting it to an IRA and then subsequently converting that to a Roth over the next 3-5 years. I know this conversion is considered income in the year I convert, and therefore taxable in that year. Any other fish recently think through this? Any key things you considered when deciding what to do with your 401K?
