It's my fifth year in state government, and I'm considering a jump to a non-profit for more hands-on impact. I love the mission-driven aspect of public work, but sometimes the bureaucracy makes me feel far removed from the people we're supposed to serve. A local nonprofit offered me a role at $5K less in salary but with more flexibility and direct community involvement. Has anyone made a similar switch? Was it worth the trade-off in stability and pay?

Approaching 30 now and living with roommates in NYC, but considering moving to my own place. Has anyone found that living with roommates is better than living alone? Conventional wisdom says no.

I’m a pretty outgoing person and i like to have people around. I also like my roommates cause we chill. So I’m really scared of moving in alone and being lonely. Increase in rent will be marginal and totally affordable.
