Any ideas for early childhood math centers? My kids are struggling to remember their numbers after 13! 😩😩
I’m preparing to teach division with decimals. Our math program doesn’t have manipulatives for the concrete representation. Suggestions how to have students understand dividing with/without decimals?
I wish you all an excellent day! Competing against Google search or being part of it. Am I the only one checking what I already know, online just in case. Seem like soon we will just be moderators...
Does anyone else have to wait until they have all assignments turned in for the day to start grading? I have Geom classes in the a.m. and p.m. and my OCD doesn’t let me grade as they are turned in.
About 1/3 of one of my algebra classes is retaking the subject bc they failed last year under a different teacher. They’re disruptive and don’t seem to care about anything. How do I deal with this?
How do you handle a class that can’t work independently without talking constantly? They’re not really a problem when I’m lecturing, but when I give homework afterwards they just talk and talk!
First year, 5th grade math teacher and my students don't stop talking! It takes a lot of my time trying to keep them quiet than teaching. What do you use?
How do you keep your material (notes/worksheets/quizzes/tests) organized? I have a hanging folder system now, but currently irritated with it. Like binders, hate 3-hole punches- love ‘clean’ paper 🥳
Anyone have some successful math performance task ideas to share? I need a few more creative ideas for my Algebra 1 Curriculum.
Grading😱I admit🤦🏽♀️I grade about everything. This year, I’m changing my ways. Is it be better to grade 3/5 HWs, 4/5? Leaving the other 2/1 WS as participation? Must be random as most are Fr/So
I have a medium to low 8th grade math class and an Algebra 1 curriculum would not be wise, as it needs to be more an integrated curriculum. Is this like PreAl with some minor Algebra sprinkles?!
Any good outside activities (math related) that I can do? I have Nerf guns and remote control cars I could use.
I'm a high school math teacher and I'm struggling to keep up with work responsibilities (grading, planning, emails, meetings, discipline) and still have time for me and my health. How do you manage?
I'm always looking for good technology/apps/websites to use in my HS math class. Any suggestions?!
