I'm a geometry teacher, but I had freshmen (alg 1) in my seminar class last year. I thought the questions were tricky. I was so frustrated a few times - I took a chromebook and answered questions myself and got them wrong (even though they were right!). I don't know the ins and outs of the program at all, but I know the kids all hate it. I don't know how many tries they get or what. But straight-A students were carrying Bs and Cs in Algebra because of the online program.
Again, I don't know anything about the program from a teacher perspective. My opinion is that it seems super tricky, and that's not fair to me.

Savvas is not clear in asking for what it wants in terms of a correct response. I have it now on Canvas for my classes. I substitute a different assignment for the application and performance tasks (attach file during grade input) and manually input grades.
I use it mainly for the text or the interactive student content.

I used it for geometry for a while. I didn't prefer it for my classes as it was not as user friendly for my students. It's been a bit since I used Savaas so it's possible it's better now. My colleague used it and he really liked it.

Thank you so much. I’m trying to navigate how to use

I’m using the textbook, but I’m not using any of their interactive parts to it. The textbook itself is actually I really like at least so far.

I felt like a walking zombie during thanksgiving, barely eating and barely talking. My family is small and I told them ahead of time my relationship ended. I focused on my niece and nephews, cried when I wanted to and slept from 8pm-noon for the last 5 days. Showered once or twice. That’s the best I could do and that’s OK right now. I’m back in my apartment, just trying to take it one day at a time, and not re read his texts too much. My birthday is Thursday 🙄

Does anyone know a great 7th grade math workbook? Our school system does not buy the students books. I’ve taught 6th grade math for 20 years and have made all my notes, worksheets and and examples, but I’ve been assigned a seventh grade math class and don’t have enough time to get all of that ready. I feel like I’ve spent so much money on Amazon and TPT but it never ends up being what I want. It’s usually too easy. I would be grateful for any ideas, suggestions or actual workbooks names. Thanks.

My district has finally gone 1-to-1. Is there a good app or website that I could use to have students submit answers anonymously while going over problems in class? I did this last week using Kahoot to go over a state testing review packet. It was great because I could see how many got the right answer and move on if no one missed the question. However, I would like to do it without having to create something in advance. I hope this doesn't sound confusing.

I’m teaching summer school at a high school, and the co-principals have asked me to focus on only 2 to 3 chapters worth (what they are calling “2-3 standards” in the eight days of summer semesters. However, they are also asking me to give kids the midterm and/or final at the end of each period, which covers 4-5 chapters each semester. My question is this: “Is it legal by California Ed code for the administration to ask me to teach less than each entire semester, yet test each whole semester?”

I finally was able to convince my principal that we need a consistent math intervention at the MS level (grades 5-8). (Right now, we are just "doing our own thing," which isn't helping students progress much.) Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be beneficial to have some sort of progress monitoring tool as part of the program, if possible. Our classes run roughly 55 minutes (which is too long for an intervention, in my humble opinion).

Thanks for any advice.

What would u do in this "hypothetical" scenario.
1. Student gets 95 percentile on standardized tests in 1st grade.
2. 2nd gr teacher, capable and flexible but a little old school.
3. Parent, from foreign country, wants us to teach 2 years ahead of where student is at in math and reading in case they have to return to other country.
4. District's old standard for acceleration is at the 97th+ percentile and other students are much more"advanced".
5. Parent wants detailed steps for teacher's plan
