Hello All, I have offer in hand of 27.5 LPA+15% variable from ZS Associates as a BT Solutions delivery consultant and now my current company is ready to retain me by matching the offer & assuring that they will send me onsite to UK in couple of months. Now I am in a dilemma of what to do as I have been looking for onsite opportunities for my entire career so far. Kindly share your thoughts. I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?
Tell me it’s not true.

I’d worry it would come off the wrong way. Potentially just wait and see how your on-site goes tomorrow and then make a choice. Illness and emergencies happen, but always wary when nobody else can at least let me know what's going on.
Tbh the on-site is further away and pays less. If this was any other scenario, I'd be withdrawing my application. After all, not having another HR person to hand things off to if the first one gets sick isn't a good first impression of the management.
Ah well, I did indicate I have a 2nd round
I wouldn't make any accommodations like this until you've got the offer in hand and you know the time frame the other company needs you to respond in. No need to jump the gun on any of this, just see how it all plays out.
Yeah I see where you're coming from. I'm just thinking that pouring a lot of energy into solving this problem before it's fully happened might detract from your interview prep or something. But don't take my advice if it doesn't work for you!
