ERP consultant (NetSuite) at boutique logistics firm. We get $1,000 per year to take a course or professional dues related to job. I already have an MBA. Ideas?
ERP, IT, DevOps
Project management, AGILE (SDLC etc)
Subject matter: logistics / supply chain APICS
Data: R, Python, PowerBI
Leaning towards APICS as it would help me get on cross-team projects. Or I could pay for a premium Netsuite course
Hi SCM Fishes, how's APICS based CSCP is valued in India? Is it worth doing it in India? Pl provide ur valuable insights.
I joined the company as a buyer last May and I’m in line with a promotion to be a planner really soon. The salary they offered when I joined was actually below the market average and I have been doing planner jobs since the beginning of this year. Some other background will be bachelors degree in Supply chain + Apics certificate + a little bit over 3 YOE; and I’m in Toronto Canada. I’m just wondering how could I negotiate to get more compensation if the numbers turns to be less than expected?
I will be graduating in May with my BS in SCM, I have 7 years of experience in material handling, what would be the best career path after I graduate? After graduation I will be studying for the APICS CSMP. How much will this help?
MS in SCM Vs MBA Vs APICS CSCP?
Apics CLTD or Apics-Scor P certification? I already have pmp and bunch of others Apics ones. Looking to increase my knowledge and get some industry known certifications.
What’s the best way to make use of company tuition reimbursement policy? I want to do a certification (already have pmp) like Apics CLTD or Scor-P. Which one is better or any other one I should consider?
Hey Fish - studied sclm in undergrad, have been at Deloitte for 2 years now, recently promoted to Consultant, and have been stuck on the same GPS project I was hired into (nothing related to sclm).
Planning to jump on a supply chain project within the next few months. I am interested in strategic sourcing but am open minded and willing to learn. Any advice on what technologies should I be learning in my free time? Also does Deloitte sponsor APICS certifications?
I am thinking on going on a vanity project and certifying on both APICS and ISM. I had started studying for CPIM on my own and scheduled my test. When my firm told me the got us licenses for the CPSM program.
Is it too redundsnt to do both?
Question to other Supply Chain consultants: how would you rate the relative worth of the following certifications:
1. APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional
2. APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management
3. SOLE Certified Professional Logistician
4. ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management
5. MIT Micro-masters in Supply Chain
What are your thoughts on APICS CSCP certification? Is it truly worth the time? Industrial engineer with 2 YOE, looking for advise on whether is a good investment or not. Thanks!
Looking for Deloitte referral to S&O. 3 Years Industry as a Senior in Supply Chain Manufacturing, Ops, Distribution. APICS Certified, 6 Months in Big 4, dislike current service line placement/options.
Does anyone want 2016 APICS CSCP exam materials? Totally free, asking for the shipping cost tho. They haven’t been used, someone gave me their version and I used those to study
Anybody did the apics certification in logistics ? I have the choose between the cslp and cscp but not sure which one I should be doing
Anyone here going/gone to Harvard? Curious to know how tough Harvard (mainly MBA) is with ADHD?
Anybody hiring a certified AWS Solutions Architect Professional with a FinOps practitioner certification?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Posting on my wife’s behalf - We recently moved to the US and she is currently looking for a good role in HR consulting. She has previously worked with KPMG, McKinsey, Korn Ferry and WTW in Talent and Org. consulting practices in India for about 12 years. She also recently cleared her SPHR certification. It will be a great help if anyone can refer or aware of any job openings in NYC area. Thanks!
Perspective. I’m retiring from the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive. I have a graduate degree pursuing a doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP. I’ve been offered two positions that are great and on the human capital team. For someone in this situation where should I be looking as commensurate with my certifications and experience?

How to handle a toxic work environment? My team hired a new guy who has 0 experience and is younger than me, yet he was hired with a higher job title than me. I am fully licensed with my SIE/Series7/63/CFP (he has none of these). The firm makes these decisions but I am dumbfounded. I’m told if I want a higher job title I have to forgo overtime eligibility. Seems like a cop out answer.
Hi all - curious to know how many of you have gone through PMP certification? I have heard that it is pretty labor intensive / costly and want to make sure it is worthwhile. I work in Marketing and am not sure if it is applicable in my industry.
Anyone taking CAIA 1 next mo?
My mom started working for a small university that offers online degrees and they told her that her kids (me) could get their bachelors or MBA completely for free. My question is - is it worth getting an MBA if it’s not from a somewhat prestigious university? I’m in IT audit
Is CSCP worth it? 2 years out of school and know i want to be/stay in the supply chain field but torn between prioritizing that or GMAT right now. Feels like id be way more motivated in studying for this over GMAT rn too

New to FIRE and come from a low income family who never spoke about financial independence, retirement, or investing. Any great resources to get started?
I have an offer from Iron Systems with an 80% hike and I still have to give resignation from my current company (Amdocs) with a notice period of 60 days.
Please suggest what should I do?
I'm currently working in one of the big4s(I am a 2022 passout). My college's HoD forwarded a mail for on campus placement of hsbc for batch of 23, she knew that I am very interested in jobs in financial institutions(like banks etc). I spoke with her, she told me, "fill up toh karde, fir HSBC ke haath meh". So, I filled it up and applied for hsbc.
Will HSBC consider a 2022 passout in the oncampus round of 2023 batch?
Since it's a common chatroom, I'm hoping this question would be okay to ask here:
Is the Birla Planetarium open today (15 Aug)? Want to take my kids for a visit.

I got an offer with a standard chartered Bank after i rejoined cognizant. Pay is the same but SCB offers me an association manager.
The thing is I just joined cognizant 15 days back for the same project with the same roles and responsibilities.
In cognizant night Shift i don't like it.
In a standard chartered day shift.
If I resign I would have a problem in future on bgv? Because my previous experience 1 year with cognizant.

Happpy Friday, fellow fish! I’m looking for two Strategy Directors. Are YOU one of them? Range anywhere from $170 - $230k. Two completely different opportunities in terms of team size, business and more. Both are independent shops that value a non-hustle culture. Very different than holding company agencies. Both are also relationship-based agency cultures. Please DM to share any interest. Thanks.
