Have possible exits as a Chief of Staff at a SaaS startup (20M in funding) and as a Strategy Manager at a well known D2C company. Both pay ~125K, though the startup is remote and D2C is in NYC. Love the creative / fun culture of the D2C, and scared if I’ll measure up to the CEO’s expectations at the startup. I do wonder if the CoS position will demonstrate more growth. Thoughts?
I’m a tech Strategy Manager from a tier 2 strategy firm. I make 200k+ . I want exit to a company and do something(vs. just slides). I’m fine with downgrade. Is it possible to move to a role within tech/it? I don’t think I have the experience as all I did was tech strategy.
What salary would you ask for a Strategy Manager position (requiring 3 YOE) at Warby Parker in NYC? Also, does anyone have insights about the company?
Senior Strategy Manager. Just approached by DaVita recruiter about a director role (big P&L responsibilities). Does SM with 12-15 YOE to Director make sense? Worried pay will go down considerably? Also, new parental leave looks not as good. Anyone have insight?
Made it to last interview in Deloitte Strategy and Analytics practice for a Tech Strategy Sr. consultant role. Trying to decide if it’s worth my time. I was offered a role for $125k at boutique DC firm as a Strategy manager. Is it worth going through the 4 hour interview??
I have heard that EMBA admissions are significantly higher than MBA admissions. I am an ACN Strategy Manager, which is higher than what I would come in as from a post-MBA role, but am 4 years out of undergrad. Not looking to take the GMAT..would Duke, Georgetown, UVA, Michigan, UNC EMBAs be a good shot?

What is the best way to prep for a second round interview with a Tech Strategy manager at EY? The position is with the FSO group. Would it be similar to my first round with a tech strategy manager, where the questions were mostly behavioral and I had to provide examples from my resume? Or will there be a technical aspect to it?
I have a final round interview for an R&D strategy manager role this week for a big food and bev company. Interviewing with 4 people, 2 of which are heads of engineering. Any advice for what to ask them?

Received an offer from a pre-IPO (Series D) AI software startup in HCOL city. Trying to assess the offer. Role: Strategy Manager Salary: $115k Equity: 5000 shares ($80k) YOE: 3.5 Benefits: About as good as they come I thought the base salary was going to be higher. Am I being greedy?
Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?
What do you guys think of a Sales Strategy Manager at a Series D AI software company valued at $800M (top investors, well funded, 100%+YoY growth, large market). I’m 25M 3.5 YOE and don’t know if I want to be in “Sales”. I’ll be the only person in the company with a “strategy” title, and would hopefully parlay it into a Corp Dev // Chief of Staff role down the line. Thoughts on the role, trajectory, and potential comp?
I’m 25 years old, graduated in 2017, and am interviewing for a Strategy Manager role with a pre IPO software company that is valued at ~$700M. In the interview, the hiring manager asked me if I was okay being an individual contributor for a year, having the manager level title + salary, but not having any direct reports. It’s basically a utility player role for GTM, Pricing, Sales strategy, product, Corp Dev, etc. What should I be thinking about? Does this sound good or bad?
Currently consultant at bcg. Coming up to 2 yrs in the role and not liking it very much. Joined after industry and with MBA. Considering a role in a consumer goods company as strategy manager. Salary I. The range of 130k base. Any suggestions on how it compares to other exit opportunities? Thanks!
Starting a thread / hive mind for take home cases. Starting with mine, add yours. Format: Company / role / year Faire / product manager / 2020 Peloton / strategy manager / 2020 DoorDash / S&O / 2019 Robinhood / BizOps / 2020
How many rounds of interviews are normal for a small, independent agency? I’m in the process of interviewing for an associate account executive (entry level) position if that helps! I’ve had a phone screen and one virtual interview with the co-founders so far.
Can anyone recommend a wireless drawing tablet? I’m not a designer but picking up that role in my freelance gig and my track pad is starting to really cramp my hand. Thanks!
I got rolled onto a project right out of onboarding, but I don’t have the skills for this role. Should I embrace a grueling 6 months or consider speaking to my manager about rolling off?
Thoughts on Jabian consulting? Up for promotion in July, and got presented to interview with Jabian. Working on getting to Capgemini Invent right now after my promotion. Jabian is offering a much better salary but its a boutique firm. Should I consider Jabian, or go to Capgemini Invent and get better exit opportunities?
Hi folks! I’m currently a PM intern at a big Chicago agency but I’m looking to transfer into strategy. I don’t think I will be getting an offer from my current agency as it seems they are focusing on hiring more senior level management. Is anyone hiring or does anyone have any leads/ someone who could refer me for a junior position? It would be much appreciated as a fresh grad. Thanks!! 🤠
If I try to switch groups, interview and not get it the role. Can I still apply to other openings for the same company?
It took two months to an agency to tell me that they wouldn’t give me the job....back to square one! Agencies in NYC hiring right now?
Plan to go to B-school in 3 years (1 year out of UG now). Long term goal is entrepreneurship. Have offers at a MBB firm for a generalist consultant role and at FAANG for a strategy role. FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?
Is it easier/harder to recruit for mckinsey implementation vs a generalist role for mba full time recruiting? I kinda like ops work, but wondering if there's any issues with supply & demand re: hiring.
Who has left their job as a consultant? What are you doing now? How did you get into that role?
Accenture's o9 Solution Architect (Supply Chain Planning) Opportunity - recruiter reached out for a consultant role. I'm interested, but I'm not sure if I will be pigeon holed with this role since the job title and description are specifically tied to o9. Is anyone willing to give me more insight?
I don’t know if this is true or not, but I hope to see a day where everyone stays seated and not jump into the aisle as soon as the flight gets to gate. Wait seated to exit. A man can dream! 🤞🏼
I had a referral at bcg and was told recruiting would reach out if I was qualified if I’m not will I be notified or just left in the dark
I am an experienced consultant working at Deloitte. A recruiter reached out to me from PWC for a manager position. I have over three years of experience outside of US and a Masters degree from an accredited university in US. What do I need to know to respond to this recruiter.
Do other agencies have a “no hiring people from Vayner” policy or is my inability to land a new job just because I suck?
Got an offer from ACN for a Senior Manager role and was curious if there is a defined process to get Managing Director, or is it all gut feel and back room deals?
A pretty good exit
So there is likely no impact to deloitte or similar consulting firms based on the new 3 year to 1 year extension rule? Just saw the email from Deloitte immigration on this. Any thoughts?
Planning a vegas trip - any recommendations for which strip hotels allow marriott and / or SPG points to be used?
How long after receiving H1B transfer approval via email under PP did folks receive their hard copy in the mail?
Can anyone share your successful salary negotiation strategies for L6 product manager for Amazon? Seems like a very wide band. NY based
In the midst of all these layoffs, I'd just like to point out that I've worked for FCB Health for 15 years (now at Area 23 for last 6 years) and in my time here, there has not been a single layoff.
Netflix shouldn’t be considering in FAANG Should be Uber or Microsoft instead Change my mind 😉
Hey folks were hiring PMs (and other positions) in a bunch of locales right now. Happy to chat 1 on 1 and provide reference if you’re a good fit!
Do any of the MBBs consult for FAANG or top tech companies? Or do all those companies exclusively use in house strategy teams? If any MBB does, a referral would be much appreciated
I recently posted about moving to Antigua and Barbuda to live and work remotely on the digital nomad visa. Several people expressed interest in how I'm doing it, so I created an instagram. I'm documenting the steps of emigrating including pet import licenses, enrolling kids in an international school, cooking local food, and assimilating to life in the Caribbean. For those who are interested, check me out at: https://www.instagram.com/webelongbythesea/
I'm at EY in the FSO Tax service line and I am hating it, should I switch service lines or go to a different Big 4 firm? If so, which firm has been the best as for as work life balance.
If I complain about cleanliness to Marriott customer service, would it affect the job of the cleaning person at the hotel? I don't want them to give me 10k points but take away someone's job.
Hi, does anyone have any insight into what kind of 100% remote career options there are for an accountant? I just graduated and I'm trying to get my CPA exams knocked out before working. I'm very indecisive on where I want my career to go but I value working remote a great deal (even at the expense of climbing the ladder.)
Hello! I just got a raise and I’m officially making six figures under 25 (a personal goal I always wanted to reach) I’ve also worked my ass off to save this year so I’d like to treat myself to a piece that will remind me of this career milestone. What handbag, piece of jewelry, or other “hallmark” are you glad you splurged on early in your career? I’m not a huge designer handbag gal, but I want something tangible to remind me of my hard work getting here. Thanks!
Best company perks? free snacks? ticket to sports games? Started remote…I got an ugly laptop bag
Moms, both husband and I are nearing the end of our parental leave. We live in a two bedroom in NYC. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. The plan is that I would work from one room and husband would work from another room. We can move the changing table and pack n play in the living room, and the nanny and the baby can hang in the living room. Does this sound like a good plan?
