Feeling conflicted about wanting to leave my current company of a year where I feel I’m underpaid (despite praise from managers), though I love my coworkers and (sometimes) the work/clients. I know I can make a lateral jump somewhere else to make more, and I don’t want to get left behind in this hot market. I would be really sad to leave my current role, but really want/need more money. Anyone else going through this?

JOBS! Come work on fun beer clients with our expanding in-house creative team. We do 40% social and 60% everything else, with potential to make some great portfolio-worthy work. We go into the office 3 times a week (might not have to if you are mid level) and our team is hilarious.

My manager friend (not my manager) at work is leaving for another position in another country. It's sad because everyone else at work sucks

Just got a rejection after a final round interview for a company and role I was really interested in. Feeling sad and dejected, and thinking about going through a whole interview process from scratch with other companies feels overwhelming. :( I was also hoping to secure something by end of September as that’s when my lease ends and I’m looking to relocate to a different city, so the time pressure and uncertainty is killing me. Just need some positivity.

Just got my exit offer, approx. 30% increase in TC to work for a pre-IPO tech company with better WLB and growth opportunity. At D, I feel overworked and underpaid / underleveles.

But I am sad to leave my team and will weirdly miss this place. Stockholm syndrome?

How long did it take you to get into a senior position (e.g., senior strategist, senior art director, etc.)? Please include all years of experience including internships.

Got an offer for a great industry role that I really want to accept, but the thought of leaving my firm makes me so sad and sentimental. Amazing memories, amazing people....how do I get over this?!

I’m in a process for customer engineer at Google Cloud. Already had role related, GCA, presentation and Googliness/leadership interviews. Recruiter got back a couple of days after and scheduled the 1st team introduction last week. I have the second one next Tuesday. Does it mean I got “approved” by the HC and now it’s a matter of finding the right team? Could it end up on a sad “we didn’t find a perfect fit this time”? What are your thoughts?

I’ve decided to stop answering calls from this rude attorney (not from my firm) because I noticed on emails he’s very cordial but then on the phone, takes advantage of my junior status and chastises me (and not the partner) for our client’s position and it sets me in a terrible mood. He also doesn’t leave voicemails or follow up emails so it’s purely just to let out his aggression at someone who has no control over the situation. I will not let some sad stranger ruin my weekends anymore!!

Is it sad to exit as IC/ non SM/director type roles as M in D?

I'm a doer, I truly don't enjoy project managing or people managing. I do however want to grow in my career.

Am I making a mistake exiting into industry as an IC?

I accepted a new position that has a title bump and salary increase but am feeling weirdly sad about leaving KPMG. I loved the people I worked with and the firm, but unfortunately just can’t ever seem to get to that next level (despite being rated as performing at the next level two years in a row). Hoping I can find the same connections at my new firm.

A friend of mine in an MBA program just told me that KPMG is the only Big Four not hiring interns on campus this year... sad to hear as KPMG alum. Not to bring back old complaints but maybe they can stop sponsoring golf players?

Cold applied for an awesome role, had an interview with hiring manager, recruiter, and given a pretty hefty assignment that I’m really proud of nailing. They followed up with an email asking for 4-5 days that I am available for a full day of interviews. Gave them 4-5 days, started planning for how I’d get those days off work during insane times at current job, and now not a single word from them to confirm a date. Been over a week now. Sad. Pretty jaded. What can I do? Already followed up

Pence’s whole position on COVID and “trusting the American people to make the right choice for them” is paramount to saying “I trust Americans to drive whatever speed they deem fit”. It’s sad. This country need guidance in this situation, not some dogmatic principle. Biden on the other hand “ wearing this mask is patriotic” 🎯

Been an art director for 12 months but grown in my role significantly & my boss told me my next promo was “political”. I’m managing well over 1.5M a year, 9 brands. Functioning with little to no oversight on a day-to-day basis, w/ only strategy checkins with my CD. 100% client facing. I’m managing 1 direct report and from 2-8 copy and art freelancers at any time. I feel like all my stretch goals are ACD focused. Yet still need SAD before ACD. Does this sound like an art director? Pharma agency.

How many years does an art director need to be considered for a senior art director role or ACD role? And how much should they ask for in NYC? Also should they accept a lower pay during covid?

Does anyone have a positive career or work history in Internal Audit? There’s such a negative view of it and as someone that’s just spent their first year on an IA team after being a public accounting high performing S1, I definitely get why people view it as a place where careers go to die. But are there any exit opportunities or skill development opportunities you’ve developed, taken or heard of that might provide insights that I’m overlooking?

After 3 months of applying I some how got an interview with a well known growing tech start up! Interviewed and got an offer this week. Unfortunately the offer is lower than my current comp with 1 yoe but it gets me out of tech consulting/compliance and into a pretty interesting product facing role! A bit sad about a lower comp but also pretty pumped about pivoting career paths so early and getting to work in product! Hope this “success” helps motivate some of y’all who might feel down!

I’m an experienced hire SC and a PPMD just staffed me on a staff aug role that I don’t want to do instead of staffing me on one that used my unique skill set. Feeling super sad going into another staff aug for 1+ yr not doing what I want to when I have 5+ YOE. Any words of encouragement? I just joined the firm...

My husband and I planned to relocate a couple months ago. I got hit by the covid hiring freeze but he didn’t. He moved for his new role & I planned to stay in my job here until hiring picked up. Now there seems to be a “second wave” and I’m getting nervous. I’m hundreds of miles away from my entire family, a second round of quarantine (in my city) seems likely, and I’m stuck in a job I was anxious to leave a year ago. I’m so sad, lonely and depressed. I think I need to just quit. Any recs?

DDB Chicago posted ‘we’re hiring!’ today. For the same creative roles they just laid off.The press DDB would’ve gotten for being the first agency to bring people back? But instead they humiliated those people with this tone. Really sad!!!!!

had a great interview at acn with a mgr and he gave feedback to recruiter that id be a great fit for an A position rather than a SA. spoke with recruiter and she said all A spots are filled..sad day😔

Am a CPA but sad to say I dislike accounting/not my strength. Looking to jump out of PA but can’t see myself in any Acc related position such as Acc Manager. Any ideas on what other jobs I can go for?
