Yeah, I feel that too. The holidays are pretty rough for me too. You’re surrounded by shoppers spending big, and you’re just trying to make it all work for your own family. It’s a weird mix of pride and sadness, but I remind myself that the small things we can give like our time, care, and effort still counts for something.
I feel this so much. I have been trying to convince my family to stop the gift giving tradition for years because none of us can afford it. Yet they keep insisting that it's important even though it causes all of us so much stress. I've promised myself that this year, I have a $20 spending limit for everybody and I don't care whether they take an issue with that or not.
It’s a normal feeling. I don’t think you should be jealous because you don’t know what they did you get the funds for the gifts. Just work hard and save when you can your time will come and you’ll be able to afford all of that and more
It's difficult, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, or make you feel guilty for feeling like this. There are few feelings worse than selling a high priced item to someone that you cannot yourself afford.
