So I’m excited I have three pretty solid options 1. Being a trust tax manager at a bank ( I’ve done banking/trust world before) 2. Contract to hire at a private equity firm 3. Staff accountant role at a healthcare company. Thoughts on these options?
Anyone successfully negotiate maternity leave in industry? I feel like the only reason I’m staying in B4 is for the maternity/parental leave benefit. It’s hard to find a tax manager role in industry with a comparable 16 weeks paid leave. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!
Anyone successfully negotiated maternity/parental leave in industry? I feel like the only reason I’m at B4 is for the maternity leave benefits. It’s very hard to find a tax manager role in industry that comes close to the 16 paid weeks plus vacation benefit. Any advice? I’m not pregnant yet but just planning ahead.
Had dinner with a friend last night and they told me someone who is a Tax Manager in BTS at KPMG was leaving to take a job as a tax Director in industry making $175k + stock options. Not in a major city. Does that sound accurate on both (1) big 4 manager to tax director and (2) tax director in a smaller city making $175k + stock options and benefits? Managers in our office in BTS probably make $110k and that’s on the high end.
Currently a tax manager and I want to stay with EY because of the maternity leave and benefits. I am considering going into a CBS/internal role. Any suggestions? I’m weighing my options.
what are the differences between Tax Manager & Sr Tax Managers at EY as to benefits, responsibilities, job duties etc.
Why do recruiters send emails asking if I know someone for a Tax Manager job (I'm a senior, almost manager) with all these great benefits and pay? Like come on... am I THAT unqualified?
If I enrolled in health insurance and it is effective immediately what do I give my doctor when I see them? I don’t have anything?

Does your health insurance cover lipid profile and FBC testing? My plan is with UHG and I always have a balance to pay beyond the co-pay everytimr I go in for a routine blood checkup.
PE is notorious for being difficult to get into unless you’re coming from IB. However, there are success stories for consultants breaking into PE even without an MBA. Which got me thinking, how difficult would it be for a healthcare management consultant to land a spot at a healthcare-focused PE firm?
Has anyone taken one of those online executive courses, like the Harvard Extension School offers? Looking to use my $5k of tuition reimbursement and already have an MBA. Worth it? Best programs?
New to KPMG- out of town at a client, how does claiming a per diem work? I've just been buying my meals with my corporate card
“Per diem” meal expenses are EXPLOITATION. $50 is not enough for a single meal at a hotel restaurant, let alone an entire DAY for food. Shifting travel costs onto your employees = evil. Yes i mad :<
I see that PwC has an annual $5,250 tuition reimbursement benefit. Is it pretty straight forward to get approval for? I’m an experienced hire thinking about joining the company. I am currently doing an MS in analytics and was wondering if I’d be able to apply this benefit towards future semesters of my degree.
Product Management - I am somewhat interested in trying to move into product management. I have led internal analytics product development at a prior firm, and have led clients through developing/improving “products” for their teams to use however I have not led “consumer facing” products and my experiences have not been as “formal” as many PM roles ask for. I work in healthcare and would want to stay there. I’m wondering if others have any thoughts on these transitions.
Is Deloitte’s healthcare practice currently undergoing a hiring freeze due to rightsizing?
Who else drank their per diem dinner today 🙋
Would you rather travel every week or have a 90 minute commute to a local client client without any per diem or travel points???
Pros and cons of working in Dubai - have an opportunity to move there in January. Local package, no expat benefits.
How does the pension plan work at Deloitte? I’ve been working here for 3 years and never knew Deloitte offered a pension. I see a balance on my account but it says my statement is suppressed

Anyone have tips for paying off $136k of student loans (undergrad and mba)? I’m trying to make large payments but now I have no savings or 401k. I’m 25 and just stressed as hell about this :(
just joined the firm and needed to roll over my 401k. I got a check from the old brokerage made out to the new brokerage for the value of my 401k. Still haven’t sent it in to PwC. Should I hold off
Canadian 🐟 who have moved back to Canada, what is the best way to handle your 401k, Roth IRA, Plain old brokerage account, and bank accounts? Anyone aware of any open consulting opportunities at BCG within healthcare? Got 5+ YOE within healthcare

I'm platinum on delta. If I book a flight for my friend who has no status will she get any of the perks? Specifically wondering about the 3 free checked bags. Thanks
Looking for advice: starting new job on 1st Sept and have options to either move to DC or continue living at home with parents/sibling/sis-in-law until year end. I’m a 27M. New salary is $107K. Prefer living at home to save money but we’re in a 3BR with both parents, my brother, sis in law, and two kids (ages 3 and 1). Being at home can be distracting because everyone works full time and child caring often falls on my shoulders. It’s hard to just say “no” because of culture. Any advice? Thanks!
New to Chicago. Best way to handle cab/Uber back from ORD on Thursday night? Any tips/tricks?
I’m thinking about transferring to another tax group within the firm, but I am sure my current group would like to keep me as long as they can. Let’s say if I get an offer from another firm for the position that I desire, how should I bring this up to my RL/partner/group? Has anyone done this before?
My firm recently removed the CPA requirement to make manager in FDD stating that it is following the market. Being a CPA is definitely better than not being one but will it hurt my exit opportunities if I decide to not pursue my license? Do companies outside of public accounting even care that much about having your license / are others seeing this same trend?
Anyone in Anthem’s Strategy Consulting (ASC) group that can give insight on the company, role, culture etc.
Just had first post-layoff interview ... Pretty nervous remembering what it was like to be on the other side of the table when I did the interviewing.
Interviewing with N26. They seem legit in Europe, but does anyone have any word around their US operations?
Received offer for product management from prestigious non profit tech company; but the pay is quite low. I’m pivoting from consulting and want to break into PM but is it worth it for the low salary?

I know the usual advice for saving is emergency fund - 401k up to match - max IRA - max 401k - HSA?/personal brokerage. However, where does saving for a house deposit and car deposit (want used but only ~2-3 yrs old) fit in? I’m 26, 100k salary and have been trying to put away 3k per month into HYSA/emergency fund, was maxing 401k at ~$800 per pay period (lowered to $400 a month a few months ago since no firm match and would like to put $ into HYSA/house/car fund), and $500/month to max IRA.
