I'm interviewing for a project manager position at a place that provides support for a prominent Bay Area tech company. I was approached by a recruiter from Planet Technology. The role is a 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension.

What's the minimum hourly wage I'd need to make in order to live comfortably and afford health insurance in San Jose? I'm 30 years old w/out kids. My husband is currently unemployed so this is assuming that I'm supporting us both.

I currently work in a data analytics role (Big 4). I have an offer from a mid-sized hedge fund to do business analytics (essentially management reporting), but have interviews with Google (product analyst - data science) and Citadel (compliance project manager) lined up. Is it worth foregoing the mid-sized hedge fund for the shot at the other roles? Hedge funds or tech the better place to be?

Has anyone made the switch from consultant to Project Manager in industry? How was the transition?

Moving onto a 3rd round for a PM role, haven’t had formal PM training but they said the next interview will be PM specific questions. What’s the best way to prepare?

Got feedback when I was talking to a recruiter internally for my company (UHG) -- I do internal strategy consulting and they refer to me as a senior manager but my title in the system is senior project manager...

Applying for a new role within the company and switching job families. Said that the title is a hang up for them although they really like my background and work.

I cleared my project manager interview in wells Fargo during early July and I got confirmation that I'm selected.

Later i was told that positions are on hold due to business reformation.

I've seen that being a project manager is a common exit, but I'm wondering if that's a dead end career wise. Can you pivot to product managment, something in operations, internal strategy group, or just boomerang back to consulting? For context, I'm interviewing at a bank for a PM role and wondering what my options are, assuming I land the gig, if it turns out I don't like the bank / team.
