Between layoffs, reqs being pulled, and candidate frustration, it’s a lot emotionally. What's really helping you have a renewed sense of purpose? Or do we all just live through this hopelessness?

It's been a rough go for recruiters and the employment market overall for the past couple years. It can certainly feel hopeless but there's one quote my partner shared with me that I come back to regularly:

No matter how good something is or how bad something is, nothing lasts forever.

The way I've navigated the challenge of the past 2-3 years is to focus a few key activities:

1. Training & Development - I take online courses, attend webinars and go to conferences all in an effort to continue building my skillset. This is great during slower periods of work.
2. Networking - I attend networking events for recruiters, HR professionals and those specific to the industry I work for to stay connected, build my network and continue learning. Staying connected is also super helpful should a RIF occur which happened to me a couple years ago. My network got me back to work quickly.
3. Log Off - the news cycle is exhausting. I pick one day each week for a digital detox. No news. No social media. No work. And I was fortunate to take a 1-week vacation earlier this year where I disconnected for the entire week, but I know that's not possible for everyone.
4 - Breath - It may sound overly simplistic, but I take a short walk every day to get some fresh air. No phone. I also exercise regularly and that certainly helps.
5- Phone a Friend - again, this may sound overly simplistic but when I'm at a low point, I have friends I reach out to help me get back to center. They don't work in this industry and I think that helps.

love this! love to chat sometime. i am a TA recruiter looking for new opportunities and I love to pick your brain on some things. I have been a recruiter since 2015 working for various industries including being a top performer for J.B. Hunt Transport.

I am beyond stressed out most of the time. I am constantly worried about being laid off and not being able to find another job. So this forces me to keep pushing myself at work to the point of burnout.

So, I've tried a few different positions and still hate practicing law BUT I was approached about a contract role that won't have billable hour requirements and I won't be steeped (I think) into the law firm's toxicity, so I'm wondering if it could be the closest thing to a 9 to 5 for law. Pay is hourly which seems weird, but I would have time to devote to hobbies and life generally. Has anyone been tempted by or accepted these contract opportunities, and what's your hot take?

Hey guys ,
I was a fresher when i joined wipro
My manager has given me rating 1 in confirmatory appraisal on may 18 may which happened after completion of 1 year at wipro.
I raised the issue of rating with my manager immediately , he convinced me not to worry , ratings are already submitted , I asked him to resubmit cause i don't deserve rating 1
So he said he will look if that is possible but didn't changed .Now after 3 months they are pressurizing me to put a resignation, what should i do?
