Depends on the income. Minimum wage? Lol yeah right. Senior-level in a medium/LCOL area? Definitely doable.
My wife is a sahm. Its not glamorous. Unless your spouse has a big income and can pay for more or less full time daycare and all the extra goodies that make life fun then its more of a survival mode on income to benefit the desire of spending time with your kids when they're young.
Kids dont stay little long, wouldn't trade it for the world, but my wife's job is harder than anyone's out there (mine included) and we lose out on the nice vacations others go on. Like all things in life its a trade off, we do know people whose spouse makes a ton (eg annual income over 1m) and they're doing just fine, lol
It’s still possible. I was a SAHM up until 2 years ago, kids are older, and I wanted to get back to work. Partner makes OK money, nothing crazy, so we definitely had to make choices along the way.

Yes if your partner makes a lot more salary than an average income. If it’s minimum wage, then no
Depends on how much your partner makes and if you need to live frugally, you can. My mom was a stay at home mom for most of my life and we lived frugally, which allowed her to spend a lot of time with me, which I really appreciate and respect as I’ve gotten older
The problem isn't just living on one salary, it is what happens to you if the relationship falls apart? Will you have your own money set aside? Will you be able to re enter the job market easily? Plan for the first.
