Do you think those target-date funds are actually good for retirement, or are they too generic? I’ve been in a 2055 fund for a while, and I love how effortless it is. There are no rebalancing and no stress. Still, part of me wonders if I could do better by customizing my allocation. I’m curious how other people handle this balance.

I do both. I probably leave about 50% of my 401(k) in the target date funds and try my luck at allocating the other half across other various funds, some which are a bit riskier.
