Experienced hire McKinsey candidate here, no MBA (yet) - what level of business knowledge is expected from cases? I did engineering for undergrad and want to make sure I’m well versed before my case interviews but am not sure what a reasonable scope is. I’ve been in big 4 consulting for the past 2 years so I have some exposure to business terminology.
All Things MBB
How difficult will it be to lateral from A1 at RSM to BCG generalist associate/junior consultant (dont know the track yet)? 4.0 gpa non target
MBB 🐠, what type of questions do you find the most interesting when other people from other firms network with you? What would make you want to refer someone? What type of people do you find more annoying who you don’t want to refer?
Just graduated w a FT offer at a T2 (S&O, OW, LEK). However, full time start date has been pushed to next year. Is there any way to recruit for MBB in the next coming months? (Realise that hiring is low because of COVID) Had two final rounds w MBB during UG recruiting and if I have to wait several months to start FT. Iwould rather start a career w MBB if at all possible.
Fellow McKinsey 🐠 I’m a new professional hire and was wondering what makes a good EM. Anything specific about the culture or ‘ways of working’ ? Open ended question but feel free to share thoughts
GMAT considered for experienced hires? I took it and bombed it, took the Executive Assessment and did great, still ended up at a target school executive program, and working through it all. Will I need to retake the GMAT to even have a shot?
Recruiting for undergrad MBB this fall. Working on case prep but looking for extra resources to improve casing ability. Any tips? Good podcasts for case prep? Etc?
Apparently McKinsey has hit their hiring target for experienced hires for the year and will resume for the 2021 cycle.
Does anyone have advice for McKinsey final round interviews? I have a final round coming up (expert track - analyst level), but am having such a hard time with the cases! I’m really interested in McKinsey but am worried my case performance won’t cut it for the final round 😬
I’m seeing a Front end developer position for financial services lab on McK’s website. Does anyone know how much of that role is coding vs consulting? I’d prefer more of consulting while requiring a deep understanding of code but can’t tell if that’s the case here.
Hi folks, what round of interview do you guys typically ask the salary range of the position? I’m looking at a non-client facing role if that matters.
MBB🐠who assist with screening: Listing which projects were federal vs commercial helpful on a resume? I’ve done both at Booz, about to be looped into a referral (generalist track) but embarrassed to ask directly. TIA🙌🏼.
Is anyone that is at MBB currently willing to do a mock case interview with me? It would be greatly appreciated. (Feel free to DM)
Could anyone speak on the LA offices of MBB? Anything on the size. Industries, exit opps, and culture relative to other offices would be helpful
