Anyone here familiar with the hiring process of KPMG consulting in Van? Had a partner interview on Nov 21, thought the feedback was positive but haven't heard back yet (no rejection/offer). Is it something normal or the interview just didn't go as well as I thought?

It's an experienced hire for an SC role. I saw the posting is still open atm, and my guess is that the recruiting team is comparing candidates since competition is higher due to recent layoffs.

I was laid off from Deloitte in the 18th. I have an interview with Amazon for a Senior Program Managers Non Technical position with Amazon hiring manager on Monday. Any advice would be much appreciated. I would love to get into Amazon. I hear their interview process is brutal.

In the S&O practice and have not been staffed since mid March. Since then been doing 50-60 hrs a week on BD (I’m a Manager for reference). Utilization was around 100% back in March currently 70%. Great reviews in Lead liked by colleagues etc. However the past few weeks have been quite depressed as I’m worried I’ll be laid off. Took a week off to take a mental break but can’t seem to relax at all (lockdown + lack of childcare isn’t helping) should I start updating my resume?

A stranger puts a gun to your head and says "I will kill you unless you get yourself fired from your current firm in the next 24 hours." How do you save yourself FB?

Seeing all these Deloitte "tellyourstory" posts on LinkedIn and no one is telling their story about the forced pay cuts or unnecessary layoffs.

If a firm has layoffs, is there a state or federal reporting requirement? And how is state or fed law govern layoffs, if any?

I'm an optimistic person, but it is so hard when everyone around me is so negative. What's the worst that happens, you get fired and you go work somewhere else.

Pre-COVID you were promised a raise to come in June to accompany the smaller raise and promotion you got in January. Now, your company is like every other company - combating layoffs and going through raise and hiring freezes; which makes the opportunity for that raise look pretty impossible. The thing is, the job you’re doing is at least two levels above what your promotion brought you to and you feel like you’re doing twice the work for half the pay. What do you do?

I joined my current company 4 years ago as HR Generalist through Hays working part-time while studying my Masters and I was hired full-time in 2020 with a different title as HR support Specialist. 11 months after, my FTE reduced to 70%.
