Genuine question. If two candidates apply for the same job and one uses AI to polish their CV, should that give them the advantage or does it feel unfair? I’m curious where people draw the line.

There's nothing unfair about it IMO. Everyone has access to AI at this point. If you choose not to use it in your job search, you can't cry foul when someone who did gets an offer instead of you.

I think if your resume looks good, regardless of AI, you’ll get a call. If your resume isn’t good, then you lose the opportunity… so better use AI or have someone professional look at it.

Not unfair. All is fair, as long as it’s not misrepresenting your qualifications

There are a lot of things in life that are inherently unfair. I don’t feel like using AI, and using it wisely is one of them.

Any advice on breaking into international arbitration? For background, I’m a 6th year litigation associate (general commercial) and I’m feeling bored with my work. I really took an interest in international arbitration during law school (participated in Vis moot, etc.) but didn’t actively pursue it after graduating. Am I being completely unrealistic by wanting to switch?

Recently lateraled as a public defender in HCOL area to ID in LCOL area for $$$. I’ve been at the job a little over a month. My concerns are that I’m getting very little guidance or mentorship, and I’m worried about not hitting billable hours (2000 requirement but I am just over 80 for the first month). I am only in charge of a ~5 cases atm and struggle with figuring out the next steps, etc. I’ve met all my deadlines that have come up. Thoughts or advice?
