I just got laid off. I currently work as an IT program manager. I'm looking to transition from industry to consulting where I can leverage my experience to solve complex client problems. I'd appreciate referrals!
Previously in consulting, was just laid off from the late stage VC fund I was working at. Any ideas of what to do next?
Is it a bad idea to get a new job this period? My firm is not talking about layoffs at the moment. Has anybody moved from their somewhat secure job?
Got laid off from my first job after graduating college & living home right now with family. Not sure what direction to go. Was doing a structured finance role and not sure if this is something I still want to do. Any suggestions on other positions in Finance/ looking for areas with growth and potential.
Is it just me or does payer and provider suck right now? Tons on ppl on the bench and hearing of impending layoffs.
People across all firms that were laid off, what level, business competency and industry were you aligned to?
If anyone deserves to have layoffs, it’s those folks in TSA - Bunch of lazy people standing around and whiling their time chatting.
I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..
Sometimes all you have to do to feel better is to get out of the front door. To all of the people who were laid off, remember that. One more day!
Does anyone ever have an ethical crisis in knowing that some of your work may be instrumental in client layoffs?
Half my team got laid off and while I’m grateful to have my job still, I feel like I’m drowning in the additional work. All of their responsibilities have been assigned to me, the most junior person on the team. When I brought up that this was a bit much for one person/didn’t think this was sustainable (hinting at the fact that some of the other existing team members should pick some of the laid off peoples’ work), team lead went off on what I’m sure he thought was an inspiring speech about...
Hi all, Finally COVID-19 caught up with me. Not health-wise but career wise. I was laid off and am looking for a job. Ple I was working as an Associate Consultant with ZoomRx in the Business Analysis team. I was handling multiple high velocity end-to-end projects. I have a total experience of around 4 years of which close to 2.5 years are in the consulting space. I intend to continue my career in the same line i.e as a consultant. Please let me know if there are any relevant openings.
Ex big4 told me that the best talent leave, bottom gets fired and the middle performers make partner or stay. He's now CFO at a start up. Not amazing but definitely better off than me
Honestly being laid off sounds pretty good as a staff working 65 hours a week 🤷♂️ would be making more money doing nothing.
I keep reading all these posts about firms laying off a ton of people. Can someone explain what happens after one gets laid off? Like do they just fire you and that's it? What happens to the pay? Etc.
I reported a sexual harassment against a MD a couple of months after the summer and never heard back after the hotline said they'll have updates 3 weeks later. I am now laid off and MD is still on my
Got let go today. Re-structuring. There less than 3 months. They are offering me 1 week severance. Thoughts?
Newly laid off with little in the way of prospects due to the economy. Does anyone have advice on negotiating a severance package or hiring an employment lawyer to do so? The company I worked for have a very poor package (two months pay for 8 years of service).
Any thoughts on base salary range at ACN Boston coming in as consultant level? MC, 3YOE, non MBA thx!
Do any other managers get annoyed when a resource works from home and is unavailable via Lync or Skype through significant periods of the day? How do you handle?
I might need a freelance PM w/ creative resource experience or just a creative resources manager. Mid to senior level. Fully remote but must work CA hours. If you might be right, DM me your LinkedIn link?
I got a 4 rating but my snapshots and verbal feedback have been largely positive. I emailed HR for a review but they can't discuss until I'm back from medical leave in 6 months. How do I handle this?

Anyone in the healthcare sector find a good way to manage these huge revenue and AR database files? Trying to come up with a strategy to build a hindsight analysis but it’s difficult given the way the database and files work.
HBS usually posts the Round 2 interview invite date by now. Strange that it wasn’t published last week? I’m sure it coming this next week, but I wonder if it’s due to high applicant volume.
