I am in need of some serious advice. I have been continuously harassed, ridiculed and spoken down to by a coworker who’s now even “threatened” to get me fired etc. We do not have an HR department and the only manager I can go to is also mistreated and not taken seriously. What do I do? I’m terrified.

I’m being shadowed this Friday by my manager due to my performance… my managers keep forgetting to put me in product training classes and how to navigate system classes and I’ve brought it to their attention, but they keep forgetting about me. I’m scared I’m going to get fired because I know nothing basically… even though I’ve told them I don’t know how to do certain stuff many many times.

I'm a new manager. I was taught to give opportunities to others and know my team's motivation. In my team, there's a person who just doesn't care. She doesn't care about career progression or salary or getting fired. How to best manage her?

Context: During social interaction, I sensed she's either from a super rich family and has a very rich SO. It's none of my business, but I just want to learn how to manage her, as I can't find her motivation.

I personally feel that I am more of a slower worker than my other peers at WIPFLI. I take my time when I work through my assignments. Recently I have had a conversation from a Partner and separate conversation with a Sr. Manager who is my performance coach. They both say it takes what it takes to complete a job. But both are asking questions about my over budget. What do I do? I’m scared that I will get fired, honestly. I just try to do my best. I’m thinking of having a chat with them.

Offer help. I have 3 years in consulting and make 140k. I was laid off from ACN Strategy as an analyst and able to sell myself hard to another company. ACN wants me back, and will match my salary, but I am also getting offers from Firms for around 210 from different “boutique” consultancy and some T2.

Should I go back to ACN, make manager and look for an exit?

Should I join Deloitte Strategy as a SC make manager and exit?

Help! Just met with the client manager telling me that I am an underperformer while I've had a non stop busy season since March as an A1, went on to say that this week will be to review if I am kept on the client.

I'm feeling a lot of anger towards my manager (now he's acting normal but there were moments where he was condescending/dismissive/mocked my and others work/arrogant/said stuff was "wrong" constantly/belittling the difficulty of tasks etc. in the past project).
Maybe it is "standard chewing out" but it bothered me a lot. So much that I find myself still getting all fired up inside thinking about it...

Currently with a Salesforce boutique prod and consulting firm as a Manager and make around $135k base with 5% bonus. Very good WLB and loyalty perks. 0% Travel. No layoffs at all. I got an offer from Deloitte for a Sr Consultant position with the base of 145k. Yet to negotiate. I have total 7 yoe. Is this the right move considering just $10k increase in pay? How much Deloitte brand matters for exit ops? I prefer good WLB if not great and prefer travel to be under 50%

Although have heard mixed opinions here ! People have mentioned that A&M has a great comp and at manager level one can make between 250-350k, on the other hand some people have mentioned that it is extremely difficult to make over 250k because utilization stays close to 60%. I also heard that the culture is cutthroat and one bad project can get you fired. They also mentioned that you are expected to work weekends. How true are these statements?

I have now been rejected from two other T2 strategy firms, and apparently the feedback is that “I have great experience” but they “are not moving forward with my candidacy”.

Is anyone here constantly worried about getting laid off? I didn’t get moved to my next level (SA1 > SA2 > SA3 before manager) last review cycle (I was 6 months in the firm). Now I’m always constantly worried I’m going to get laid off. Overall get along w people at my level up to manager, but cannot get along with most partners and some directors. I’ve had good reviews from the former, and mixed reviews from the latter.

Curious, is it common practice to advise managers *not* to remain in correspondence with a recently terminated employee? An employee was just fired *without* cause (headcount reduction) and has been trying to contact his former manager to stay in touch, etc. The manager has not responded to the employee yet.

I don’t belong in my job. I didn’t mind it when I joined in January and was interacting but as we’ve been work from home longer, the less motivation I have. Anyone have to deal with office drama? My office manager is a pain in the butt to deal with and causes unnecessary drama. Sometimes it gets to the partners. If its about me I like to speak up but I worry that I’ll get fired for speaking up.

How to move into marketing? Did “marketing consulting” for 3 years then moved into S&O cuz I couldn’t get a real marketing job but then got laid off. Manager pulls me onto a proj with a role description I’m excited about because it’s something I’m interested in and have a passion for. The day I start he puts me in a PMO role and when I say this isn’t what I signed up for he says yeah client needs shift sometimes. I patiently stay on for a couple months then when another engagement opens up I ask to be released and he oks it but then wrecks my scatter plot. How is this even legal? Just joined a new consulting firm (after being laid off from the last one due to “poor performance”), and I’m being staffed conditionally on my first project. Manager has so far has given me pretty light / easy PMO work and asked me to make a few slides here and there, but generally it’s work below the level I was hired for. I’m in the post-MBA role, so want to make sure I’m meeting those expectations early on. Any advice on how to go about this and get more responsibility?
