Had a second interview that was basically the same questions as the first. Not sure what they were trying to assess differently. Is this normal or just poor interview structure?

If it was the same person in the second interview, poor interview structure. If it wasn’t the same person, they should’ve briefed the person on the first interview so they can prevent asking the same questions.

like

Agreed 💯

So the interview is not so much about the questions they ask, but more about the responses you give and your personality. You need to remember, they’re going to ask the same questions to everyone, but the answers you give back are what gets you the job. Given your attitude towards a very regular interview, I can probably tell you didn’t get the job. Sorry to say it, but if you’re questioning their process in the beginning, it’s not a good match.

That’s true, personally and attitude does really depend on their decision usually

Hey John needs to be human and communicate with people directly. Sit down with them and speak to them and see if they’re the right person for their you let AI decide but if you’re looking for a human robot to work for your company again, I guess go to AI route

Possibly checking for consistency? Maybe another person on the team checking to see how you would fit in different shift schedules?

Probably trick questions haha

A second interview should be more thoughtful and impactful , using the same questions shows there is poor communication within that hiring team . Going through the motions . I can understand how this is frustrating as your time should be valued . Asking 4 questions honestly will not show you are qualified or best candidate . Some people can interview awesome and some not as well and I bet companies will find a very similar success rate for them . It’s a tough market , do the best to be prepared and be your best self , keep after it and stay positive , the opportunity will present itself.

Hi ,

Can anyone suggest about fitment round .

I’ve recently left my job (unhappy with it) and am applying for new work. I have a few irons in the fire at the moment. I’m curious about a trend I am seeing: I like to think I’ve well documented my abilities and functions in my CV, as well as my portfolio. I’ve noticed that for some of these jobs that I can check every single box in the job description, I won’t even get an interview. I’m wondering if many of these jobs are posted for internal hires, but some stay open for weeks. What gives?
