I’m a QA in Noida and resigned from my post on 6th May. Served 2 months of NP with honesty and extended my NP because of the management request.
Now they’re not letting me go. They’re not releasing me even after I’ve completed my NP. My joining is due next week.
They’re asking me to complete the project and then only they’ll allow me to leave.
Please suggest what should I do.

I spoke with a recruiter recently about a position in her company and before we even began talking about the job, she asked if I needed an sponsorship, I told her no, I dont need one. But she continued to press on the subject until I had to tell her I was a US citizen. I dont know why, but the whole conversation made me extremely uncomfortable. So my question is, can recruiters ask you about your visa/immigration status even when I told her I didnt need a sponsorship??
