I heard someone say, "She's just really confident" about a woman who was assertive in a meeting.

Would we have said the same about a man? Probably not.

What subtle bias have you seen lately that still happens too often?

I’ve seen it too. When a man’s assertive, he’s “decisive.” When a woman is, she’s “intense.” We still praise confidence differently depending on who’s speaking. I also once saw a woman lead a tough call and someone called her “bossy,” but when a man did the same thing, he was “taking charge.” I hate seeing this. How do you handle this situations?

I agree above, a different tone taken depending on make or female. I’m not sure how to navigate this either so I’m following if you have any advice?

I’ve been approved for a transfer to the AUS office. Early 30s couple, no kids, small dog. Wife will work for the state but doesn’t have an office assigned yet. Looking for a SFH (that isn’t soullessly modern) in the 600-700k range that will suit our interests: walk to a grocery store, maybe a restaurant or two, commute to work in <30 min. Where should we look?
