I need to perform well after months of bad performance for 6 months to not get fired I'm scared but want to do it impossible?

Lateral. Just lateral.

like

If someone at your firm told you that you have six months, then it’s too late, you’re effectively fired already. That’s “the talk.” Lateral while you still can deny having been fired. That should be 100 percent of your professional focus now, worry about “improving” once you land a new job and starting strong there

likehelpful

OP what did happen?

Why have you performed poorly? Mental health? Personal? Leadership?

If you lateral and do the same you might develop a reputation.

like

Yeah actually looking at my sheet I have more runway than I thought I'm very close I can do this

in the corporate world it's very difficult to recover after being put on a performance improvement plan- in most cases it's just giving you a heads-up you're going to be terminated. It's possible to recover but you really need to change minds. Look for a new job now!

helpful

Not impossible, unless the work isn't there.

Hey guys I have offer from cisco system and checkpoint cyber security . Checkpoint is offering x+5 in base where as cisco is offering similar amount in joining bonus. Overall per year ctc is also differs by 3 lac (y+3) in checkpoint .

So considering recession and mass layoff which one will be right option to select in terms wlb, job security and future growth .

FYI : checkpoint is starting r&d division in India I will be first person to be hired for the same role.

Looking for respectful ways to manage helping people in need of a job or seeking mentorship. I get 3-4 requests a week from mutual contacts asking if I can connect with a former colleague (always broad). Typically the ask is a 30-45 min call. So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. When he found out that there wasn’t one, but his boss said there was (who gave the guys $ for boots and the claimed it on his expense reimbursements as something else) the boss got mad at him for askingHR (and in trouble for the expense reimbursements) and then 2 days later laid off my friend. There appears to be no notice of bad performance and this person always was the first person on the job site ready to work. Thoughts?
