You’d be surprised how often this happens when women lateral. They should honor your leave and they certainly should not fire you. If they do (big if) hire a lawyer ASAP
You shouldn’t be fired, but whether they honor the paid leave depends on the firm’s policies.
Some firms have a year of service requirement before eligibility for leave. Would recommend finding your firm’s policy and seeing if that exists. But not all firms - mine doesn’t have a waiting period like that. And if it will be close to your 1st anniversary, I would not at all be surprised if they permit you to take the leave anyway. Most biglaw firms are pretty generous with leave. I would not at all be worried about being fired!! The only question is whether you’re eligible for paid parental leave. But I would give it around a 90%+ chance you’ll be fine.
Congratulations!

Definitely will not be fired because of your pregnancy (can't guarantee you won't be fired for other reasons). Your intranet likely has all of the policies, but also please find someone to talk to who can give you the rundown on how to navigate it. If your firm has a women's affinity group maybe ask someone in a leadership role if there's someone you can chat with - if you were at my firm I'd be happy to chat and ease your mind and tell you you'll almost certainly get the leave and be fine!
