I just received an email requesting for me to do an in person interview on the same day my Supervisor invited me to go to a stupid in person meeting. Ive been trying to get out of this job for several months now. What would you do to get out of going to the meeting??

I'd go to the interview. If you have been trying to get out of that job, means it caused stress, poor pay, they think the job is more important than your life.

I would ask the future employer if they have availability another day as you have a pre-existing engagement that conflicts with the time they proposed.

Wouldnt that mess up my potential chance to interview and be considered for the opportunity? This job is SUPER TOXIC and I need to get out asap.

I'm surprised the future employer didn't work with you to ask you what dates you would be available for an interview. I am currently in a job and have had about 6 or 7 different interviews and they have all asked when my availability was. And we found a time that worked for both them and me. If they imposed an interview date on you without asking you what your availability was and knowing that you are already in a job, that is a red flag to me already. I understand you're trying to leave a toxic job but there's no point jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. If you are already committed to that interview date, then I think the only thing you can do is probably calling in sick with your employer the morning of your planned meeting so that you can go to your interview instead (and say you are feeling really bad and can't answer calls until you feel better). Or you could instead say that you have a medical appointment ahead of time and aee if the meeting can be moved, but in a really toxic workplace they might force you to try to change the appointment (and ask why you are dressed more nicely than usual for going to a medical appointment if you have to wear those clothes to work and are not in place where you drive to work have your interview clothes to change into in your car or in a Starbucks bathroom). Of course you could say the appointment is with a specialist and that you had to wait an entire month for an appointment (just like I did for an appointment that I had with a specialist last week which I had to wait for a month for), so you can't change it. But calling in sick at the last minute may be your only way out if you feel like you are committed to the interview date and time with the potential new employer.

You could ask the possible future employer can you schedule for a different day due to an appointment you have on that selected date and time. In turn they may ask you for you to provide a few dates and times of your availability.

Hi Guys,

I interviewed for TCS on 18th of September and got a mail to upload the documents later on that day itself. But after uploading the documents there is no further communication from their end.
Any idea how much time they’ll take to revert ?

Does anyone know how to break a rental lease agreement if the landlord does not fix the window in the unit? I moved into a apartment few months back and have been having just issues in the apartment, there is a defective window from which cold air has been leaking. This has become very problematic now that peak winters are here. I want to break the lease without penalty, appreciate any suggestions or legal options.

The normalization of "on hold" by the usual suspects. Had 6 interviews in past 4 months with D_itte Get the verbal offer from HR. Yay. Fast forward to following Monday. Get thanked for my complimentary followup sent post-final interview. 48hrs later, same recruiter (on speakerphone) tells me job is now hold and "you must be upset" and good luck in your search.

Tacky AF. Tell me I was rejected by the shadowy 5-person board or it was given to someone who wanted less. Just not this b.s.

I just got an offer from a company that I have mixed feelings about. Team seems great but Glassdoor reviews, not so much. I’m currently interviewing with a couple of other companies that are amazing and would be my too choices. However, I’m very early in the process so it will probably take a month or so to get to the offer stage with them. I don’t want to fall between two chairs for not taking this offer and then not getting any from other companies. What should I do? Best strategy?

Interviewing question: for anecdotal “tell me abt a time when..”, & similar questions - are you allowed to recycle stories from your undergrad years or do they only look for post grad/work stuff? Afraid some of the stories that sounded okay at undergrad recruiting might now come across as a bit “lightweight” in this context...like would they eye roll if we start talking about that one time we did a science competition sophomore year of college (even though it taught an important lesson)..etc.🤔
