Planning to return to office on Monday and my doctor still haven't filled out my fitness for duty papers. I was on FMLA for a week because of a surgery. I feel fine to be back to work. The fitness for duty paper feels unnecessary as all I do is sit in front of my computer and work from home already. Do I really have to send it to HR?

Our CEO is running a meeting with managers around expectations and upcoming initiatives. It was also brought to my attention that he will be informing them that if they wouldn’t retain someone from leaving / they aren’t A++ players, then we should fire them. I wholeheartedly disagree with this approach. I’m noticing many leaders taking the approach of only wanting pp“HiPos” but nothing is wrong with a B- employee who might just need additional development and training (which is a managers job).

Hi! I started at a new company 2 months ago and while I’m really enjoying my job so far, I’m having a hard time gauging whether or not I’m doing a “good job.” My role seems to be always evolving, which is fine and I actually enjoy being a support to the greater marketing team, but I feel like I need better defined targets to make sure I’m meeting expectations. Also, when I ask my boss what they’d like to see, I don’t ever get a clear answer. (Cont’d in comments)
