Just got an offer from a growing private company for an FP&A analyst role. 2 YOE at Big 4 plus CPA. They offered 75K plus decent benefits. No 401K currently (told its in the works for 2021) or bonus. Its their final offer. It’s a MCOL. I like the people I’ve met but the only thing holding me back is I feel like I should be making at least 80K plus a bonus. Do y’all think the offer is reasonable? The recruiter said not many companies hire someone directly from an audit background for this role.

Is it still worth putting money into a 401K if you're an expat and don't intend on retiring in the US, or even staying more than a few years? Are there major penalties for cashing in before retirement age?

Anyone get an MBA at 40? What advice would you give on choosing a program? I already have a masters in my field (healthcare) but I think the business training would open a lot of doors. My main goal would be improved career opportunities, including C-suite, and setting myself up for long term financial security. I also just like this work. I have researched lifetime earnings and an MBA seems to be a good investment but I would have to take out student loans. I’m single and child-free, female.

Trying to get a feeler for comp and whether I am underpaid or overpaid:

Base: 150.5k
Bonus: 15-16%
Pension: 4% PA (not sure if I should be including this or not, but I’m fully vested so I get to take this $$$ with me if I leave)

Total comp comes out to be around 179k-181k, manager in Advisory, tech implementations, Program/project management at a mid tier firm (not big 4) with 7.5 YOE

Would love to hear thoughts, considering jumping to another firm for a better offer or stick where I am.

When I spoke with HR she said that their was some confusion and with name and they have send wrong offer letter but except my CTC and joining date everything was same my email id, my home address everything. And now I have been asked to wait, HR says they will raise again. And its been 3 days now I can not accept the previous offer also and I cant even resign from my current company. What should I do?

Question (slightly grim but I intend for it to be lighthearted)— what do people without kids plan on doing with their estate/ wealth once you’re sniffing the daisies?

People always talk about how they’re “working to leave something for the kids” and unfortunately I don’t think my fur baby legally counts.

It’s been something on my mind lately & I’d love to hear what others who are child-free are planning. There’s obviously spouse, parents, siblings, but what else?
