It’s not your age
In exactly the same boat here.. Don’t think it’s age-related though. The pool of roles available is limited and competition is high, so people looking to pivot are in a disadvantaged position compared to those who are already with relevant experiences. I try to focus on high cv customisation and putting transferable skills forward
Look up Andrew LaCavita on YouTube. He has great advice for career pivots
Ageism is definitely a thing. In general, I avoid startup culture for this reason, you'll usually have better luck at legacy companies and industries outside of disruptive tech or arts/creative-related things. In sales, I think you have a good bet to land a gig as long as you highlight how you've moved the needle and created revenue effectively
