I'm so frustrated. I've been working for 10 years and I can't get an interview for Senior AD roles, but I get tons of enthusiastic calls for Intermediate ones. Im doing the work of a senior now - concepting alone, working direct with clients, guiding the odd junior - and I do a lot of stuff for the community at large that shows leadership (like conference stuff).

I've had CDs review my book and they say my work is great. Why can't I land a senior job? I want to manage, I have good ideas. WTF?

Currently a first-year associate at a generally Florida-only law firm (only a couple offices outside of FL) with around 300 attorneys. Thinking about applying for positions at traditional big law firms for more resources, pay, and experience. 1) is this doable? 2) is this advisable?

Been asked to present my current client’s plan and PCA in second interview for a role. Am I being over cautious by not feeling comfortable with this?

I have accepted a mid size company 6 months contract staff accountant role. However, I will have interviews with couple of large companies by the same week of my start date. My question is, if I’m lucky enough to get the offer, is it bad to leave the contract after a couple of months? I don’t see any legal restrictions.

I had an interview with 2 senior managers last week for an industry position and it went super well. All behavioral questions. I have an in person interview this week with a director of the group and will be shown around the office. Would you expect this one to be harder or more like trying to figure out if you are a good fit for their group like the previous one? Don’t have any background on what the interview will be like and I really want the job! Any advice would be great.

After an interview, I’ve been asked to provide samples of work. Is it common to have an online portfolio with sanitized deliverables that have sensitive information redacted?

The longer I stay in academia, the more concerned my parents get about my future. They are starting to act like I’m a disappointment who will never accomplish when they consider important life goals. How do you deal with an unsupportive family?

My parents are amazing/weird sometimes - gifted them Bose QC headphone and the first thing they check is the Bluetooth range 🤣. Not the sound quality or noise cancellation. They literally walked away from the device to see how far it’ll work. Idk what to make of this.

Hey! I’ve spent the last 4 years working on the “product team” for a large toxic corporation. I want to gauge if my scenario is unique or if this is how other companies operate PMs/POs/SMs before I rage quit and go somewhere else. I am a product owner and scrum master for 3 agile teams. It’s been this way for years. I make $95k. I am literally the only scrum master in the company and 1 of 2 product owners. There is also no product management team so I assume a lot of those duties as well. Help!
