Socially? Yes, quite possible, basically everyone is bilingual and especially downtown. We have lots of tourists and there's no great hatred of them. Business-wise, you will almost certainly be expected to become conversational in french unless you've landed at one of a very small and shrinking number of companies
I agree with the above that socially speaking it will be easy. Montréal is a bilingual city. Work wise it might be harder to find a good job, in terms of salary. Many companies that are English only pay low. 100+K jobs usually require advanced French and English.
Hey ! Many people in Montreal don't speak French at all. They are some areas where English is the main used language. I don't think you'll have any problem:)
As a Recruiter/HR person, most of our clients require french speaking employees. I have to agree with the other comments. Socially no worries, professionally could be difficult.
It's possible.
But for all french speak speaking person, you gonna look like an anglo that don't do any effort to integrate yourself in a french speaking country
