I have read that many companies may provides candidates with a “golden hello” (sign on bonus) when joining the company. I’m not sure whether this is something that depends on the company, the seniority of the role or the industry of the role itself before I could attempt to negotiate this?

Fully dependent on years of experience, bonus and equity candidate is walking away from. As an entry level coordinator be thrilled with $5-10k but don’t expect anything if you’re not leaving anything on the table leaving your current employer

So, our company will ask for screen shots or other evidence of your expected bonus at year end to validate your request. This is to prevent, “my bonus is $50k with my current employer, can you make me whole ( new employer)?” But the actual bonus may be $20k and the candidate is trying to get as much as they can when negotiating their new offer.

When discussing expected comp, you can ask if there is opportunity for sign on bonus. This is often used to "make you whole" if you are walking away from a bonus at your current job, or if new job cant fully meet your comp expectations.

$325k TC at MBB in a non-generalist (still partner track) path. At KPMG, was going to go up for M last year but it would have been a tad early (only 2.5 years at senior) so I decided to push it back to this year. This year, after talking about my business case since last summer, I was now just told I won’t even be given the opportunity to go up for M at all, with very weak reasoning. Hi Fellow Fishes! I need some urgent advice. I had accepted a job offer at a really good company with a good role and team. I am due to start that new job on Monday 30th Aug. Now the thing is I have a better job offer from one of my dream companies-i would be really stupid not to take that offer. When I was headhunted for the job, ESG was a relatively new concept and too few companies hire for related positions. I didn't find any salary range from Glassdoor or anywhere so I had no idea. My fault was I did not ask the HR and just gave my asking salary. When I saw a similar post from my company (I was already hired that time), they were already including the pay range and I realized mine was way below. I'm already 2.8 yrs in the role.

Hi! I have an offer internally within my current org for a level above my current paygrade and they are pushing me to sign the offer. I’m actually waiting to hear back from FAANG(might take 2 weeks from here on). I’m really confused on how I could keep my current internal offer in the loop while I wait for my faang interview results? I don’t want to sign up internally and then later if faang works out I would have to say no to these internal folks..
