I have 2 kids and haven’t slept in 4 years. But I definitely felt much better 2nd trimester!
You get used to it, lol
With the baby you’re waking up a lot so it is very interreputed sleep, but the quality of the sleep you are getting is better. Still tired, but I am functioning better at work getting up 2x a night with baby than I did with ~8 hours of crappy pregnancy “sleep”. And I felt a lot better second trimester. So it mostly gets better!
I’m on maternity leave now so I was just where you are. First trimester was awful. I didn’t sleep well and had morning sickness around the clock. Second was way better and I got productive again. Hate to admit that by the third, I got little sleep as it was uncomfortable and I had no energy. My advice is to get as much work done during the second trimester so you aren’t stressing as much towards the end.
I actually had a better/easier time sleeping in my second/third trimester than most people even though I was huge (baby was born early, naturally at 9.5lbs 🙃). I was also miserable first trimester with sickness and couldn’t have coffee my entire pregnancy because the smell was 🤢
I did no coffee through my mat leave too (6months) and just started again more because I love the taste and routine of having a cup of it on my way to work. Since baby was born though, as long as I get 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep I am so much less tired than I ever was before without coffee. And I’ve always been a very sleepy gal lol Idk I think my body runs on adrenaline now until baby goes to bed and then I just crash.
1st trimester is literally the worst. It gets better!! If you’re not feeling more like yourself by 14 weeks definitely talk to your doctor, make sure you’re getting enough iron etc.
Mine is ending Friday. And same. No morning sickness but the constant nausea and falling asleep after I eat has been an absolute drain. I also am forgetting things left and right 🫣
Second trimester was 10 times better for me
