My job has rolled out a strict new dress code requiring us to buy specific shoes and colors, but they aren't reimbursing us. If we're not wearing them, we get written up. With wages barely covering rent and groceries, forcing us to buy a new wardrobe out of pocket feels completely out of touch. Is it even fair for corporate to demand this when most of my coworkers and me live paycheck to paycheck? What are my options?

As lame as it is, the law is that if buying the uniform puts your wage in that period under minimum wage, the employer must pay for it. But if it doesn't, it is only done in kindness

Wow / thank you for this info - gross though

I’d start by asking HR if there’s a reimbursement program, uniform allowance, or transition period. If not, check your local labor laws regarding required uniforms and consider raising the concern collectively with your coworkers. We have the same uniform policy in the company I work for, however we do offer reimbursement programs for the staff that need financial assistance

How is wlb in common wealth bank, Is it better to join this company?

Hey all! I have an interview with
Deloitte in Regulatory Risk and more precisely in their Investment Management Services team. I would like to know if anyone
knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).
Is it the case here?
Thanks!
