Salaam everyone. I was wondering if anyone had advice for a second year auditor who is trying to make the move to advisory, and then eventually Strategy. I've spoken to a few people in advisory, but so far it appears a transition in the near future doesn't seem likely. Any advice on how to work towards a future role in Strategy or tips on steps I should take?

if i found out who the hiring manager is for a role at a small company should I reach out to them on LinkedIn or just apply?

It states on site that I would talk to recruiter > hiring manager and by having an informational interview with the hiring manager first would that be strange?

Any ideas of the expected comp range for a strategy manager role in industry?

I just got an offer for a hybrid Product Owner / Scrum Master / Project manager role for a SWD company.

Wonder what I should counter. I have five direct YOE and two indirect.

Base: $145k
Bonus: +10%

It feels a bit low but it’s also more than I make now.

I have about 5 years of PM experience and am looking for a senior PM role in a company that makes ML based products and it's been hard. I've gotten feedback that I seem "really smart" but I'm not a good fit for X role. It feels like a hiring manager saying you seem "really smart" is code for something.

I'm also in the position where I've had real successes but my current role is stagnating to the point where I don't know if I can claim any real big achievement in the last quarter to 6 months.

Would it be fair to say that Big 4 new seniors are underpaid in this market? I ask because I was planning my exit and thinking 80k (expected senior salary) to an ideally 95-100k jump to industry was possible.
Now that seniors are really only around 70k now, is it fine to keep the same standards for pay when exiting?
