Make sure you save that message. Depending on what's in it, you may have grounds for a lawsuit. Talk to an employment attorney in your area and see what your options are. It's an awful experience you've had, but there's a valuable lesson to be learned. You can't expect companies or managers to be loyal to you. Their loyalty will always be elsewhere.
I would be sharing that text message with HR. That's what I would be doing....
Me too. If you know you're going down, you might as well go down swinging. Burn him.
Were the comments just critical of your work, or were they more serious than that? If you think that any kind of discrimination might be a play, take those text messages straight to an employment lawyer and whatever you do when you get laid off, don't sign anything.
Oh that sucks! I'm sure that hurt bad, and I'm sorry you went through that. But for your manager to talking about employees behind their backs is quite unprofessional. I don't see someone like that taking it too far. Not that I'm asking you to wish bad upon him but I think you're going to make it out and so well!
