Is it normal for an associate not to be on the website for a few years? I know someone who says he’s an associate at Latham and Watkins but he is not on the website.

Would love any insights into Latham and Skadden in New York! Transactional practice. General hours requirement? Growth opportunities for laterals? Are the people nice / douchey? Anything else?
Any thoughts on Latham in London? Considering a move out of MC and hear they are very strong at Finance. Also any insight into base pay bracket for 2PQE?
Latham NYC - how many years do they do practice group rotations for juniors? 1st year or 1st and 2nd?
At a crossroads for what to do … <3 YOE and have enough saved up for a down payment on a condo (live w parents now), but am also thinking of getting an MBA . Would love to do an MBA abroad and work internationally for a few years, but financially it would definitely be better to have a mortgage vs. lose 2 years of income .. plus it seems like MBA’s aren’t as valuable as before any thoughts ?
When we go back to the office everyone gets a three-month grace period to wean themselves of bad personal habits gone unchecked during covid (wipes Cheetos-dusted hand on sweatpants, gives thumbs up)
Examples of billing narratives for strategy discussion with your partner about tasks related to an acquisition closing? Thank you!
Is a promotion within 6 months realistic at Kearney or am I being sold snake oil? Sr. Associate to Manager. MBA.
Anyone else notice that credit cards are dropping their benefits? Rental car insurance, travel insurance, extended warranty, etc.
I was just offered to get a promoted offer (from AS to VP,AD) at a different company, but I have been wanting to transition off to non-advertising gigs especially pharma. Does it make sense to sign the new offer first and keep searching, or get out when I can out of advertising? I took the interview a while ago thinking I still wanted to be in advertising but had gradual shift in heart..
Just got promoted. At the same time, got an industry offer from my target sector, director of the internal strategy team. Both TC and base of the offer is 10% lower than my current numbers, and the gap will become 50k-60k reduction in base alone after my promotion. Am i crazy to still consider this offer?
I was pulled into a meeting to essentially give my opinion on my supervisor’s performance. It sounds like they’re about to get fired. Do I give them a heads up? If it were me, I would want to know, but if it gets out I said something I don’t want it to burn any bridges with upper leadership...
What is the more creative (or crazy) idea you have seen or thought of to simulate some resemblance of the “old normal” communication with people? In professional setting. Tired of everything being zoom (or likes of that). Things like virtual reality? Or hologram? Or anything like that?
I am thinking of getting a timeshare at Disney resorts. One time - 45k for 250 points yearly and at the Hawai’i location. Annual dues are 2k. Contract is for 60 yrs. Is it worth it?
Is 85k too much to ask for at a large NYC agency? I've been mid level for two years and I'm applying to mid level roles...
Friend Holds a PhD in Physical Therapy. 3 years into working for a healthcare/hospital network. Would they be able to pivot into life sciences/healthcare consulting without having to go to B-School?
Does anyone have recommendations on processes or sites that help with diversity recruiting? Our company is trying to try to break out of the homogenous bubble we live in, any tips appreciated!
What is your favorite books on leadership/professional development and why? Looking for some great recommendations! Thanks in advance!
Excellent benefits and WLB
Do you ever feel the need to micromanage subordinates? If yes, under what circumstances? Have you found it helpful?
Coming in to MBB as a lateral hire (experienced post MBA consultant). 8 YOE in tier 2/3 consulting jobs. Always a top performer, but I’m assuming that will change at MBB......what are tips to get comfortable being an average performer and being okay with it? I’m not worried about the “ego” side of things, but I am worried bc my personality is to work hard until I’m a top performer and I am scared I might burn out doing that...
Just had the TSA at CLT make me throw out half my toiletries since they didn’t fit in a quart size bag. Anyone else have this issue and found a way around it? Serious responses only please. 😄
What’s your opinion on wearing sleeveless/tank top shirts to non client meetings like daily stand ups? I see females wearing them a lot on some of my zoom calls? Inappropriate or no?
Currently at a big 4 with 5 years of experience. No early promotion due to 2 transfers to different groups. Another big4 reached out about manager role and I’ve had 2 interviews. Spoke to an old coworker and they said this wasn’t common to get a promotion through big4 by moving. True? Worth to continue interviewing ?
5 years post-MBA and all my classmates are VPs in industry or Principals in consulting/IB (some are even Partners/MDs already). I sat in the same classes with these folks for 2 years — probably outperformed some of them academically. Yet, here I am continuing to struggle with my student debt payments, hoping that “Uncle Joe” forgives 20% of it. I’ll never have that kind of earning potential because I didn’t come from the “right background” pre-MBA.
Those who are in their 40s, what are some of the biggest life lessons you learned in your 30s? What are some regrets? I am 31 going on 32, so interested to know a consultant’s thought on this.
Just curious, in what year do people start to take the lead on calls with client/opposing counsel, and is there a difference between biglaw and midlaw?
Is it normal for firms to be ambiguous about titles during interviews? Firm says that specific title will be determined during interviews and may result in a lower title than one originally applied.
I feel like 1/4 of my job is chasing seniors/partners to respond to my emails. They tell me to have drafts ready by A to prepare to send to the client by B. I’ll check in occasionally after sending drafts to them in time for A but by day D I’m still chasing with radio silence. Any advice? I don’t want the client to think I’m ignoring them when I’m the one being ignored!
I love intern season!!
Any chance of getting to the PEI interview if you didn’t do well on the case/technical interview?
Anyone have experience working in EY’s EGRC and TPRM group? Any idea what the salary band is at a senior level? I have around 2 YOE and currently work in IT assurance
