So I joined a company in March as a freelance contractor that is a subsidiary under Dubai Holding. I was given two roles a project manager and a data analyst, however by June the CFO and head of finance resigned and then my new boss (who is the more senior fellow) never made time for me to connect on admin and career matters. Finally this week I got a time set up with him and he turned it into an exit meeting with HR telling me my role is now redundant based on direction from Dubai Holding.

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.

I'm currently in a process for senior associate at a Big4. The process began on July, yet between the first and second interview it took like 3-4 weeks. And between the 2nd and 3rd like 7 weeks. I sent an email to HR during those weeks asking for an update and didn't have an answer. Then it a 3rd one was scheduled three times (the manager didn't connect to the first 2) and next week I have the last interview with 1 partner. Is the timing normal? Or were they looking for other candidates or what?
