Say you apply to an internal role (and your manager knows about it), but you don’t get the job. Do you just let your manager know about it casually, and reiterate your interest in and commitment to the current team? Wouldn’t your manager be a bit wary of your renewed interest in the team now that your internal job application fell through ?
Up for promotion this cycle and wondering whether I should negotiate my raise – what should I expect overall base increase to be over a 3-ish year period, promoted twice? I know this will differ based on firm, role, etc. but looking for some kind of range/industry baseline here

Currently in a B4 non-customer facing role doing internal strategic / tech work. I work alongside our consulting teams daily, often on the same (internal) engagements. I have an interview with another B4 firm soon for a customer-facing consulting role and there’s of course talk about sales and business development. What does that actually mean (day to day)? I worked in professional sales years ago and busted my ass cold calling, prospecting, proposals, and knocking on doors. Is it the same?

I have the opportunity to exit to a Product Manager role at a PE-backed software company (noname co w ~$5-10B rev). Pay is at $150k base. Seems like an interesting industry. However, I kind of just stumbled on this and am apprehensive about leaving BCG after just a year out of undergrad. I’m also unsure how stock grants play out when working for a portco. Does anyone have advice for how to think about my next move?
Anyone else have a recruiter try and guilt you into a job? This one gal pulled her "relationship" card with the hiring firm on me... Frankly I work more closely with these people than she does...

Have anyone heard of GEP? Boutique consulting focusing on supply chain and procurement. Going through recruitment with them and want to have some inputs on culture/career development/ comp. Thanks!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
We want diversity for all creative work and a dynamic culture. But our clients demand we staff for specific multi cultural briefs. I hate having to approach diverse talent this way. Thoughts on how?
