What are some exit opportunities for a Senior Financial Analyst primarily focused on budgeting/forecasting and strategy?
Seems like the “Financial Analyst” role is just a new title for Accountant. I’m on my third interview for a Senior Financial Analyst position but the job description seems to be a mixture of both general accounting activities but also financial statement analysis. Is this a trap? Or is it truly a hybrid finance/accounting role?

How common is it for recruiters to misrepresent jobs to people like us? I had one sell me on a senior financial analyst role and was super pumped about it. Later last night was digging and come to find out it’s a SEC Reporting Analyst role, nothing like what I want and the duties are totally different.
Should I try to leave as a current second year into a financial analyst position or wait a year for senior promo and try to get a Senior Financial Analyst position?
I’m a current 2nd year and I know I want to switch into an FP&A career. Does it make sense to switch to an entry level Financial Analyst position now or should I stay till senior and try to get a senior financial analyst position?
Which would be better? The first will def pay better but afraid of being pigeonholed into fund accounting and lack of exit opps. Finance Manager at a top VC (review accounting work that is outsourced and help finance team as needed) Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A) at a private SAAS company. Thank you all in advance!

How difficult will it be to transition from Internal Audit and IT audit to a traditional Accounting or Finance role(senior financial analyst, senior accountant, etc)?
Is a MBA worth it if I don't want to go into High Finance or MBB? Currently a Senior Financial Analyst from CA making a little under $90k (not in Bay Area). Im 25, a minority, and married (if that matters). Aiming to get into a finance position at a Tech company (FAANGT or other Big Tech). Contemplating if I should just continue studying for the CPA exam or ditch it to focus on GMAT and apply to B-School. I was also considering a Masters in Business Analytics as well. Very confused

I’ve interviewed at several agencies over the years and I swear by one simple rule: if the hiring manager doesn’t send a thank-you-for-ditching-out-of-work-to-meet email, I don’t take the job. https://amp.businessinsider.com/how-to-write-thank-you-email-after-job-interview-2019-4

Thinking about changing my talent segment and role. What’s the process of changing your TS/R? When do you get approved? Does your TFS let you know if your application was rejected?
Does employee level of internal referral matter at B4? E.g. if I see a job requirement I fit, then does having a senior associate refer me carry more weight than a staff? How about manager versus Sr?
Anyone here on the FIRE track? Are you reassessing your plans? I thought I was 5 years away from my exit date, not sure if my investments will rebound by then or if I need to adjust

Thinking about a switch to analytics/big data. Don’t have any experience but thinking about part time masters and trying to recruit for a position that way. Thoughts?
Ok, protocol question: I saw a posting for an Art Director position at a very small shop. I am overqualified for it, but I want to start a dialogue with them about more senior opportunities. Do you recommend I a. Cold email them, b. Visit their office and try to meet someone face to face, or c. Apply in hopes of having them contact me and then try to bait-and-switch?
My intern was assigned the role of “strategist” on an intern-project and they asked me “Wait, so I just have think about stuff, I don’t actually have to DO anything??”
Confession: I very rarely go to the local office, even for networking events. Anyone else here miss all of them? My Fridays are usually packed with work, travel, or catching up on life.

Does anyone have examples of "subjective criteria" besides leadership, that could be used to force rank a group of leaders? The objective metrics are easy, but I'm hoping to blend the data with a few few subjective criteria to help paint a broader picture when making short and long term planning decisions. Thanks in advance.
